Need For Speed: Shift 2 Socal Launch Meet…Part 2…

Back with the second part of the NFS event…today will be more of a different mix of cars than yesterday, where I covered a small number of cars with numerous shots….

Bisi’s wagon, Sportcar Motion ITR, Kane’s coupe, and Super Street head-honcho Jonathan Wong’s EF…

A better shot of Wong’s EF…

Big Mike, Salem, and Dougie discussing something on the Prelude…

They rolled out Chris Rado’s time attack Scion tC and it quickly drew a crowd…

Insert witty front spoiler comment here…followed by a rebuttal that says it’s kind of funny but the wing is definitely functional…

Always enjoy seeing full Voltex-equipped EVOs…

…I liked this one in particular because the owner has the Volk flat centercaps on his RE30s…It’s the little details that matter and RE30s look so much better with caps…

Clean black S14 on Work Equip wheels…

Lotus on TEs…

Really like wing-less EVO Xs, especially on bronze CE28s…I think I’ve seen this car cruise around in my area on occassion…

Naturally aspirated widebody Supra…

…and an even wider boosted Supra…

Another EVO X, this on of the wagon or sportback or whatever you call it variety…

DPK David was in Hawaii on vacation but Black Pie was kind enough to bring his coupe out for display…

Rywire CR-X…

Keith from ItsJDMYo’s Accord…

We decided to walk on into the studio area to check out the game and to see what cars were inside…

They had units like this set-up inside for everyone to have a first crack at the Need For Speed game…

…as well as a couple of machines that were fully set-up with steering wheel and seat…

They had a couple of domestic cars set-up inside because the studio is used often for Hot Rod magazine and other domestic magazine titles. Near the DJ booth and gaming area was the Mustang RTRX. You’ve probably seen a bunch of pictures of this build by now if you follow Speedhunters closely. It was also on display at last year’s SEMA show and looked like it was quite a hit…

The Evasive Motorsports EVO looking mean as ever on Volk TE37SL wheels…

Inside the photo area was the other Spirit Rei Odyvia. This one is, I guess you can say, the “retro” version where the theme is more based on styling that was used on older model imports. This S14 even has an L28 motor from an older 280Z and even bears it’s likness on the hood of the car….Inside I think is an old 70’s Kenmeri Skyline dashboard and has a MSD ignition box mounted to the passengerside dash and is lit up…why? Not really sure, but it’s pretty cool…

A closer look…this studio might look familiar to you guys because Sheepey’s drag hatchback was shot here a year ago and I snapped some behind-the-scenes shots of it for you guys here on The Chronicles…

The Twins Turbo Viper…

Need For Speed models Randyl Dawn and Courtney Day…

Top Secret S2000 from Bulletproof Automotive…

On rare INGS+1 wheels that are rare because they are not very popular due to them being not very attractive…Cool to see though, nonetheless…

The ever popular Vortech S/C…

The guys from Heartbreaker set-up a table and had merchandise available for those who wanted to help out the victims of Japan…

It’s rare but cool to see some true bosozoku style cars…It’s not everybody’s favorite style of modifcation but you have to admit that it’s pretty unique. The whole boso thing is great when it’s applied to the right cars and not butchered and attempted on a Honda or whatever…

A bright ass red S13 coupe from Violent Running Tribe…

That’ll do for today….back with the final part of the NFS event tomorrow…
