A Couple Quick Shots With Ip-Man…

I’ve been sitting on these shots for a couple weeks now debating if I should put them up or not. There are two reasons behind it…For one, I’m going to be re-shooting the car once again in it’s completed state for a feature in Honda Tuning magazine, and two, these shots are just not very good…haha. I wanted to get a couple shots in earlier on in the day when the sun was still out but Sam ran into quite a bit of traffic on the way to the location so it was dark by the time we started. Black/really dark toned cars are pretty hard to shoot because they are essentially like mirrors and when you shoot them in a tight space as I did, you’re bound to see some reflections. I would have taken the time to get rid of the wall reflection and what not but I’m pretty busy with work at this point and it’s terribly straining on the eyes to do so. This wasn’t really meant to be anything serious, Sam just wanted to get a couple current shots of his car and I had some free time, so I was down to do it. He’s got some new things planned and I think by the time these photos go up, the car should be right around 90%. He recently installed a supercharger on this thing as well so I really wanted to get some photos of it before he really gets on it on the way up to Norcal for Wekfest SF…

I absolutely love this car. It’s probably one of my favorite builds out right now and I was also a big fan of his previous white FA5 Civic before he wrecked it. I’m really excited about shooting it again in a more proper location for print but for now, all we can do is take a look at a couple crappy shots of it that I took on a random night. I apologize for them not being that great, but I think the car speaks for itself. When I get a chance to shoot it again, the quality will just be so much better, I swear. I took more than three shots that night but since the car is going to be featured in print soon, I don’t want to spoil it for everyone. I think it’ll mean that much more to Sam as well as Honda Tuning when it is finally revealed in print in all it’s glory. I believe he has some over fenders that he has yet to install as well so the car will have a completely different look. In any case, thanks to Sam for taking the time to drive out and thanks to all of you for looking… Larger versions are included in the links below each photo as usual on The Chronicles…

Oh, if you’re wondering why in the title I referred to Sam as “Ip-Man”, Ip is his last name and “IP-MAN”  is going to be his new plate to replace the old “SPN FED” one he has on now from his old Spoon Sports-themed white FA5…Ip-Man is also a chinese movie, but I think that is probably irrelevant at this point…

Be on the look out for this thing at Wekfest SF 2/19/2012!…
