Man, I remember like almost ten years ago I went to a DUB event and I stood there and told myself that I would never go again…and well, I didn’t. I’m not trying to say that I am better than the people that actually do go, because I’m not. The show just doesn’t happen to be something that I was interested then and after all these years, am still not interested in now. I know a couple people that will usually go, including some models like get hired to work the show, but even if I had free passes, I’d prefer to just stay as far away from it as possible. I remember the day I went to my first and only DUB show like it was yesterday. It had been raining a bit early in the morning so the cars that we brought to show ended up getting all dirty, and it was an outdoor DUB event so we were parked in the grass. I had a screwdriver in my trunk just because I might need a tool whenever to fix something you know… security took it. I didn’t understand why back then but then by the end of the day, I quickly figured it out. I think Ludacris was performing that day and people were going nuts. They served alcohol of course so there were people everywhere that were drinking and partying. It was essentially a concert atmosphere with some cars on display. On paper it sounded cool. There were also tons of females EVERYWHERE. I mean, if you want to go to a show and look at a bunch of hoochies and hood rats, the DUB show definitely has a ton of them. I mean, there were just giant asses everywhere, haha. Anyways, one thing I remember in particular about the event was this guy who was hanging out with his friends by the stage while the concert was going on. This dude was fucking wasted…To the point where he was stumbling around and eventually just passed out by the stage. His friends kind of just left him there and I was watching from a distance. After the dude passed out, people just ran up to him and started robbing him and shit. It was the craziest shit I’d ever seen. They took his wallet and shit, took his chain, shoes, all while he was knocked the fuck out. There wasn’t as much security back then so they probably didn’t even notice. They just saw a dude passed out by the stage. Eventually they came and got him but he had no idea what happened. At that point I was like, “man, fuck this shit” and I never went to another DUB show again… Another moment I remember specifically was after the DUB show, my friends and I went to the Denny’s down the street to grab a bite to eat. While we were waiting for a couple others to get to the parking lot, a buddy of mine and I hung out outside of Denny’s and this random hood rat walks by and just flashes her titties at us, haha, it was the most random thing ever. Shit like that you can’t even make up, but you’ll find it at events like the DUB show…

As for coverage today, I didn’t go, as you should know by reading the paragraph above. While I didn’t go, I did catch wind of the shooting that occurred and found video of it too. The great thing about technology these days is you can literally see and hear anything that is going on because somebody will capture it on their camera or cell phone. I don’t know the whole story but apparently LA rapper “Y.G.”…ah fuck it, I’ll just quote someone else since I wasn’t there anyways…How true it is I don’t know, so take it with a grain of salt but the videos speak for themselves…

According to sources, rappers YG & members of The G.A.M.E.’s crew had a run in this afternoon in downtown Los Angeles and it resulted in violence. Compton Menace who is a close friend to G.A.M.E. and has a record of being involved in fights with other rappers like 40 Glocc got into an altercation with YG. Sources at the venue say that YG was on stage rapping and then Compton Menace’s crew “got into it [a fight] with YG’s crew.” There were about 40 people fighting in what turned into a brawl sending people running for cover.Once outside gunshots erupted and several police and helicopters descended upon the convention center

Confusing right? Imagine if you were in the crowd or imagine someone who decided to bring their wife and kids to the DUB show to look at cars…

….and this is the type of shit that keeps me from going to the DUB show. While I would like to keep an open mind about our hobby and would go to look at the cars as well as giant asses, I prefer not to get shot in the process or trampled on while people are rushing out of the building because some shit was going down. I don’t have coverage of anything that happened at the DUB show but this is all you really need to see if you’ve ever considered going. I like how the PA announcer in the first video was trying to tell the crowd that it was a “family event”….umm.. the DUB show is definitely not for families and children. I also saw a bunch of comments from people online that said that they don’t understand why people would pay to get into a show just to start shit. I don’t know if you guys realize this, but there are a lot of people in there that don’t give a fuck and didn’t pay to get into the event. They probably know people that have tickets and can get into the event and won’t stop to think for a second whether or not they wasted 40 dollars or whatever to get into the show. If shit is going down, it’s going down. They don’t care about you, kids, families, money, or anything. I’m sure the LA Convention Center won’t be hosting another DUB event again, that’s for sure…I heard whoever was shot ended up dying too but don’t quote me on that. There is all kinds of stuff online about what happened and I’m sure you’ll be able to learn more about it if you care to look…
