Import Alliance Spring Meet 2013 Coverage…From Varying Perspectives…Part 3…

Yesterday we got to take a look at some pre-IA Spring Meet coverage from the SOUTHRNFRESH “Welcome to Atlanta” meet, provided by guest photographer Dipesh Gohil. Today, Dipesh will show us photos from the actual IA Spring Meet. If you missed any of the parts prior, I’ve attached the links below. We got a ton of photos to go through today so I’ll avoid the chit-chat and get right into it. Enjoy…

Glad to see my limited edition CHRNCLS hoodies outside of California. These things sold-out within an hour after I put them up in the storefront but I hadn’t really seen anyone with them on and photographed until now…

From afar, this would resemble a zombie hoard on an episode of The Walking Dead…

IMG_8658-Edit

…but upon closer inspection, what is revealed is a 3rd gen. Honda Accord which the owner has allowed for IA Spring attendees to write-on. They don’t seem very creative however, as the most striking quote written on the car is “Can you see me in your mirror”…Definitely not the most creative things to write on a car…

Rarely seen modded Abarth with male driver…

IMG_8665-Edit

I don’t think this owner has anything to worry about really but I guess it’s better to be safe. I just don’t see very many people pawing at the thought of owning a set of XXR wheels…haha. The only thieves in this scenario would be XXR because they have robbed you of good taste…

This Z33 coupe was pretty clean…

IMG_8682-Edit

…as was this S13 coupe…

IMG_8691-Edit

Ever seen a heavily-modded Dodge Caliber? Not out here in the West, that’s for sure. I gotta admit though, it does look pretty cool. It shows that you can really take any platform and make it look good if you mod it tastefully…

IMG_8705-Edit

Pretty cool seeing a Saab 92x wagon modded too. I always wondered why these weren’t more popular because they are pretty much Subaru WRXs with a face-lift. The front end almost looks better on these cars and maybe if someone got some Voltex gear to fit the front end like some have done to have it fit the wagon, it would make for a really cool and unique build…

IMG_8719-Edit

I really like this J’s Racing equipped Acura TSX. To be honest, I always thought the J’s Racing front bumper looked a little big on Salem’s TSX but on a darker car, it isn’t as obvious….

I was told that this “douche” (quoted from one of my guest photogs) was driving around all day in his Mitsubishi Eclipse with lambo doors blaring music out of his ghetto-ass sound system. I can’t say if he was a douched because I wasn’t there, but I’ll let you draw your own conclusions based on the photo itself, haha…

Rarely get to see any photos of this Z32 but I remember it specifically from last year’s Import Alliance meet. Love the small resurgence of (VeilSide) Andrews Racing wheels as of late. They were incredibly expensive back in the days when VeilSide was huge so we just never saw them here in the states. Now that they are cheaper and people are importing used sets, you finally see them on builds all over the country. It’s actually good to see them because most of the time, they are on period-correct cars too. Either the enthusiasts have good taste or they were from that period and just always wanted a set but couldn’t acquire them back then…

Another unpopular chassis that showed up to IA looking pretty good was this Kia Forte Koup…

IMG_9134-Edit

Congrats to the owner of this EJ1 coupe for finally executing a clean J-swap. Most of the J-swapped Hondas I see are usually on the brink of catching fire because it’s a giant rat’s nest under the cut hood. Thank goodness someone finally put in work and did it cleanly…

Rami Qasem’s S2000 that I hope to see in Texas once again this year. Hopefully the Wekfest guys decide to bring me back out there for the trip…

Bradley LaFayette’s RHD Honda S2000 VGS is starting to really come together. Love the interior and how he matched the panels to his Recaro seats. I’m curious to see what is under the hood or if he has any plans to do anything to it…

IMG_9234-Edit

From other photos I’ve seen on the web, this EK was one of the more “talked about” builds form the IA Spring Meet. I like it. All-In Fab did a good job on the engine bay and the turbo components and the whole car comes together nicely. I can’t seem to figure out the random mix of colors in some of these builds out in the Midwest/East coast however. It would look so much better if there was one central theme instead of the blue, red, green, purple, etc. all mixed together. It throws off the flow of the build. Again, this is just my opinion but some of these Honda builds out there could benefit from some consistency. Steven Youhana’s EK build suffered from the same problem last year. So many great things combined into one but final execution is key…

Thanks for looking and thanks to Dipesh Gohil for covering the event for me. Maybe some day I’ll make it out to an ATL meet. I still got some more photos from one more guest contributor coming tomorrow so make sure to come back…
