As they say, “all good things must come to an end” and we are finally counting down to the end of our Japan trip coverage. It is insane to think back now and think that we did all this stuff within such a short amount of time in Japan (11 Days). After the wild evening with the Osaka Civic guys and hanging out at the meet, we were all in a fog. We didn’t believe that any of that stuff even happened and how we were fortunate enough to be witnesses to it. That night, we got home pretty late in the evening after we ate dinner with them and the following day was an “extra” day that allowed us to sleep in. I’m sure Yasu needed the rest too since he had been so occupied with taking us everywhere and making sure we were well-fed. He was working simultaneously while taking us out so it was certainly tasking on him. We appreciate everything he does for us so when he asked us what we wanted to do on our last few days there in Osaka, we didn’t really have much of a preference. We were down for whatever really but I wanted to toss some ideas over to him to take some of that pressure off of him from having to plan out our days. I know how tiring it must be to have to make sure everyone is taken care of so I told him to just take us over to J’s Racing. I visited J’s a couple years ago but I wanted to see what was new over there. I can honestly say that I don’t really care that much about J’s but they have cool shit so why not check it out, right? After J’s Racing, we just went shopping and relaxed. Food is always a welcome treat so we had plenty of that but for the most part, we were just lazy, worn out, and open to do just about anything. Whenever we plan our trips, we always leave two extra days towards the end to not do anything so we don’t feel rushed to head back to the U.S. I couldn’t imagine going home right after going to that Civic meeting because I was so excited about it that I would feel like I was leaving on too much of a high, if that makes sense. The finals days are the “come down” from the high of Japan and you’ll notice when you watch the final vlog below that it was definitely very random, but still very fun…
With that said, I just want to thank everyone for tuning in and taking in all the content provided. We never go into any of this with any expectations but I am overwhelmed by the great responses from everyone. The videos are just something that we just started doing for fun but it seems as if people are enjoying them. I love going through the footage when I come home because it really allows me to relive my entire trip. Photos have always done that for me as well but the video is so much better because you get to rehear the jokes and all the interactions with friends. What is important to remember is that I don’t just cover car stuff. I love the culture and everything that we do so I really make it a point to try to capture that and relay it to the rest of the world. I appreciate everyone for watching and looking at the photos and I look forward to doing more in the future. Enjoy…
The Chronicles Vlog #4 (Part 10/10): The Finale ft. J’s Racing and Extra Content From Osaka…
Here are the first half of the photos from that day…
J’s Racing was our last car-stop for the trip…it seemed like we had been in Japan forever so a quick visit to J’s felt like the right thing to do to close things out…
Outside was the J’s Racing GT widebody S2000. Unlike the crazier S2000 with the wild flame livery, this one is much more stealthy and is finished in all black….
Here you can see how much wider the front end is compared to a stock-body S2K…
Side view of the J’s S2000. Nice to see that is sits at an aggressive and functional ride height. Notice how the front section of the wheel well area of the bumper is trimmed for maximum tire clearance on turns…
Ever-popular Craft Square carbon side mirrors….
Inlet for the air jacks which are equipped on the J’s S2000…
Rear end of the S2K. Interesting how it runs AP1 headlights but AP2 tails…
Custom exhaust which exists through the rear bumper…
Driver’s side Lexan glass window…
Motec digital instrument display…
Fuel cell set-up inside the S2000, which is painted a bright teal color to contrast the black exterior….
Volk Racing CE28 and meaty Advan A050 rubber…
Front carbon canard which flows with the rest of the front bumper…
Wide rear quarters…
J’s Racing Fit which you also saw in a previous post when we visited ASM and attended a J’s gathering at Autobacs Yokohama…
A peek inside the bay reveals an S2000 that is being worked on…
The yellow S2000 was one that we had never seen before and was a customer car from Auto Produce PRINCE…
The Prince AP2 featured J’s Racing aero and Diamond Black Volk CE28s…
There was another S2000 inside as well with more traditional J’s aero and gold SSR Type-C…
Outside on the street was yet another S2000, this one with two different sets of Volk CEs on it and J’s aero. There seems to be a general theme that is going on with all these cars….I’m sure it’s pretty obvious to everyone…
What I really like about the AP Prince S2000 is the custom cut vents on the rear bumper. It gives it a very unique look. They even cut the cap for the tow hook so it flows with the rest of the vents….
Great name too…haha…
J’s Racing big brakes up front…
TODA Racing individual throttle body kit with a dry carbon intake box and neck which runs into the front bumper… Bad ass set-up…
From this angle you can see the bright red TODA fuel rail…
SARD fuel pressure regulator…
Auto Produce PRINCE….
Inside their showroom area was an F20C engine with the TODA ITBS set-up minus the induction box…
Pretty cool seeing this old J’s themed Honda models on display…
A huge collection of Option2 awards from various races that they competed in…
One more shot of the PRINCE S2000 on a lift inside their dyno room…
After J’s Racing, we head into the Shinsaibashi area to eat some traditional Osaka Okonomiyaki at a spot called “BIGCAT”…
Lunch was also Beer O’Clock….
Der filming the intro with Yasu for our vlog which you can see above…
We scooped up Jonathan Wong to have lunch with us….
Our good friend Yasu, who always takes great care of us in Osaka…
Okonomiyaki is definitely one of my favorite foods to eat while in Japan….
Yuri capturing the finished, cooked Okonomiyaki before consuming it…
There wasn’t much car stuff left to do nor were we really in the mood to visit any more shops. We were still recovering from the epic evening with the guys from Car Make Across and Mechadock so it was enough car-filled memories to last us the entire trip…
We decided to just hang out and go shopping and along the way, we stopped for coffee and snacks at a place called “Pablo”….
Pable, apparently, is well-known for their hot egg tarts that even bear their brand which has been stamped onto the top in chocolate. With the egg tart comes a scoop of ice cream for that hot/cold contrast…
Green Tea Cheesecake…
Strawberry Cheesecake…
While we were at Pablo, Hiro and his family came out to chill with us before dinner. Hiro’s kids are pretty amazing and are full of personality so it is always entertaining when they are around. His wife is also much like him in that they share a very similar sense of humor. The whole family is just filled with fun…
The guys digging into the egg tart and ice cream…
Hiro’s wife and daughters posing for a photo with Yuri…
The kids super-excited to eat their treats….
On that note, I’m gonna cut it off here for now. There is still one more set of photos that I will toss up tomorrow, then we move onto Wekfest Hawaii coverage and then HKS Premium Day content. Stay tuned folks and make sure to watch the final Vlog of the series at the top of this post! Thanks for looking!!…
