Super Street x Toyo Tires 2017 Calendar Launch Meet Coverage…

Boy does it feel good to be home. Sure it sounds like the most “first world problem” ever but dude, traveling is definitely taking its toll. I just completed a trip from LA to Hawaii to Japan and back to LA in the span of 12 days. I don’t know what time it is, what day it is anymore, or what temperature it is. Things get really interesting when you go from mid-80s weather in Hawaii to high-20s in Osaka. In any case, I feel a sense of peace finally being back in my office, sitting in front of my computer and typing this up…

I know things have been a little slow on the site since I’ve been gone but when you don’t hear from me, 9 times out of 10, I’m out there collecting and capturing content. I am constantly on the move trying to see as much as I can, no matter where I am, and hopefully many of you have been keeping up on social media to see what we’ve been up to. Today, we are going to look at a small batch of photos that I captured from the Super Street x Toyo Tires Calendar Launch event held at Boden Autohaus in Costa Mesa, CA. I saw no calendars being released but I think that the name of the event is not meant to be literal, haha. All I saw was just absolute pure mayhem. The meet was just filled with a shit ton of people and the entire area surrounding Boden was packed to the brim with cars and humans. I don’t know if they expected this type of turn-out but things got pretty crazy towards the end of the day. Some random asshole lost control of his car and crashed into Mike from Stanceworks’ Toyota Landcruiser, more random assholes were doing burnouts, and others were just egging other people on to do crazy shit just because they could. I guess things could have been much worse but man, I can’t even imagine how much crazier it could have been and the type of stupid shit that could have possibly went down that morning. I’m just glad that everyone, for the most part, was safe and there wasn’t too much of a negative spotlight cast on the event. We stayed for a few hours but I had to take care of some other stuff with Tiffanie so we didn’t stay until the end. It’s always good to see old friends, check out some new builds, and get reacquainted with old ones. All in all, the meet was a huge success…

Time for me to sort through all the content I collected over the last two weeks so I’ll leave you with the photos from that morning…

DPK David was nice enough to cruise by my house to pick me up before heading down to Costa Mesa for the meet. His Mode Parfume LS430 is looking great these days and we found a nice parking spot for him to showcase his freshly painted car…

Allen Lugue’s Runfree AE86 is one of those builds that has been in storage for quite some years now, re-emerging in late 2016, still appearing as in-style and relevant as it ever has. Truly timeless builds like this can exist at any time period and still be appreciated…

Pretty cool to see the famed “Supreme” graphic across RWB Medusa. The name brand is so incredibly popular still in 2017 that there was a constant crowd around this Porsche throughout the day. I guess it doesn’t hurt that it is an RWB build either but people go crazy over anything Supreme-related, whether it be official or not…

I’ve always been a big fan of the sporty-VIP style like this Lexus 2GS on huge HRE wheels with front/rear Project Mu brakes. Inside are a pair of Bride seats and the front bumper looks to have a front lip molded to it…

Gerald is one of the guys from San Diego who I used to always see at car shows when I was a much younger lad, still eager to learn more about the Honda scene. In the late 90s and early 2000s, he had a 2nd gen. CR-X from 935draggers wearing a rare Cyber bodykit from Australia. Now he has this NSX on Advan Racing wheels. Good to see that he’s still doing car stuff and staying loyal to the Honda brand…

Here you can get a glimpse of just how insane it was with the hoards and hoards of people behind Jonas Petelo’s Mode Parfume Acura 3.5RL from PUREVIP. We left shortly after this because things were getting a little wild and we just had other shit to do, haha…

Thanks for looking. I got so much content coming it is insane. Please stay tuned and be patient!..
