Before we flew back to Japan, we had a few hours to spare after checking out of our hotels so we asked Yasu to drive us over to Rauh-Welt Begriff. Der has been all about his film photography lately and RWB is such a photogenic spot that I thought he’d enjoy seeing it for the first time and capturing whatever was parked out front. I was fortunate enough to see Akira Nakai the last time I was there but his schedule is honestly so random that I didn’t think we would have the same type of luck again this visit. If he was there it’d be awesome but I wasn’t going to go banging on his door. Knowing him he’d either be out of the country or busy working on something so I didn’t really want to interrupt. When we got there, it was right around noon and we spotted some of Nakai’s Kei cars parked up front. There were some suitcases in one of the cars which meant that he likely had visitors in-town. I didn’t want to alarm anyone so I told Der to maneuver around the front of the shop quickly and get whatever photos he could since we probably couldn’t stay long. I did some video which you guys must have already seen on YouTube but soon after, I grabbed my dSLR and started shooting photos myself…
Most of you will probably remember this 930 RWB on Panasport G7 C5C wheels from my January trip. I showed-up to the RWB Meet super late that trip and only managed to capture a photo of this Porsche before we left. You can see it HERE…

I don’t recall ever seeing this RWB 993 before but I’m glad I saw it on this day because it looked pretty great in this rich dark purple color with the traditional 3-piece Work Meister wheels on it…

One thing that did change since my last visit a year ago was the front door, which has had a majority of its multitude of decals removed and now has one of RWB’s signature quotes painted on the glass in the recognizable Disney font…
I always enjoy seeing what random parts are always just laying around outside car shops in Japan. At RWB, you’ll find a plethora of Porsche parts, both OEM and aftermarket, as well as wheels like this single SSR Professor SP1 that sits right outside his front door…
Natty Dread Jr. is one of my favorites from the RWB fleet. Rotana is also a good one that’s right up there with the green version of Rough Rhythm…
This purple 993 is definitely growing on me too. I love how simple it is with just a nice coat of paint and absolutely zero decals or graphics on the body itself…
I had to get one more shot since the sun peeked through the clouds and cast this nice light on the 993 with the harsh shadow from the large wing. We didn’t stay too much longer. I think we were only there for less than 30 minutes. It would have been nice to have Der see inside RWB but maybe we’ll try to do that next time, who knows?..

I don’t know if it’s my place to suggest something like this, but, I thought of an idea for some content, that you might be able to do, while we’re all quarantined at home..Perhaps you could do a “Best of Japan vlogs” compilation and/or a “Best of US vlogs” compilation. I think it’d be a neat idea, that would give us viewers a recap/refresher of what you thought, was the best of the best content you’ve filmed in your opinion. It’d give us long time viewers an insight into what you consider to be, your all time favorite cars, shop tours or events you’ve been to/judged; and for any new viewers, a look at what you do, and a reason to go back and watch your old vlogs.
Heck, you could also maybe do one of those Zoom meeting things with Yuta, do a video call, and do a reaction/commentary video on some more old Japanese VHS (or DVD’s if that’s easier) tuning car videos, like you did with the old Spoon tapes, i.e. old Option or Best Motoring/Hot Version videos. Or even easier, do an Instagram post, ask followers for car related questions/questions related to your career in the car world, and film a Q&A.
