Stancenation Japan G Edition Yamaguchi Coverage… Part 2…

Serious FOMO is setting in right now, especially since I’d normally be in Japan right now for Golden Week and the Wekfest Japan event. With this global pandemic still hitting some countries pretty hard, Japan in particular, the border remains closed to foreign visitors which means that I’m stuck here at home. Luckily I do have some content on reserve to show you guys as I await my eventual return. This particular set of photos is from the Stancenation Japan event in Yamauchi…which happened last year, lol. I showed you guys the first half last week and today, we’re gonna look at the rest. Some of these cars actually did make it to this year’s Wekfest Japan event so that’s kinda close enough to having WFJP coverage, so we’ll just have to be satisfied with that for now. There are some pretty cool builds in this set though, so please look through it thoroughly. Huge thanks to Yasu for attending this event and taking photos for me. He even conveniently made the photos look very similar to mine so the coverage looks pretty consistent with whatever I shoot. Enjoy and share if you dig it!…

Now here’s something you don’t see every day, a R30 Skyline GT-E-X hatchback. Definitely one of the oddballs of the Skyline family lineage that popped-up in the ’80s and an even rarer sight to see the modded…

This particular hatchback features the single-cam turbocharged L20ET  engine, which came factory, and a stock body that has been carefully maintained over the decades. Not much done to it overall when it comes to the exterior other than suspension upgrades and a set of gold-face Work Equip 40 wheels…

1Z7A8874-Edit

A very aggressive fuel-saver here in the form of this custom widebody Toyota Prius. Thing looks so mean that it looks like it probably gets terrible gas mileage but doesn’t make any noise other than when it scrapes a driveway…

You’ll be happy to know that the wild Celica that blew-up the internet years ago is still alive and well, despite all the hate and negative reactions it received during its build-up. People like what they like and if you don’t allow the criticism to get to you, you eventually come to realize that people stop talking…

1Z7A8896-Edit

This ER34 Skyline was perhaps one of the more “odd” builds of the event, built and owned by an older Japanese gentleman (he’s in the photo) that resembles an old Japanese fighter plane from WWII. Not too sure what the story is behind this but the owner even dresses-up as a pilot to match the theme…

1Z7A8903-Edit

Aluminum race bucket for driver and passenger…

1Z7A8908-Edit

The factory dashboard is gone and replaced with a unit that resembles a plane cockpit…

1Z7A8906-Edit

And behind the Datsun steering wheel you can see a collection of gauges and a photo from an bygone era…

Also from the Miyoshi camp is this Rocket Bunny FD in pink…

1Z7A8917-Edit

Here’s a pretty good look at how the Honda Access 20th Anniversary front bumper looks on an S2000. I don’t know how I feel about it normally because the center section is supposed to be black but on a all black S2000, it actually looks pretty good…

1Z7A8954-Edit

One of my all-time favorite builds from Japan is this RB-powered PS13 Silvia coupe built by E.PRIME from Hiroshima. It’s just so well-executed and well-rounded. It’s still subtle in many ways but no part of this build was left untouched…

1Z7A8981-Edit

Inside the tubbed and shaved engine bay is an RB25DE NEO engine featuring a custom header fabricated by E.PRIME…

1Z7A8982-Edit

From the top side you can see the polished Trust intake and titanium intake horn. Just look at how clean that bay is…my goodness…

1Z7A8986-Edit

I’m not totally sure what this is. I believe it is a Mercedes S-Class coupe but I could be wrong. The only thing I am sure of is that this is out of my tax bracket…

1Z7A8991-Edit

I do, however, know what these is. Not because I am familiar with Rolls Royce Wraiths by any means, I’m just a fan of all the cars that comes out of NIZO-LOW which is the shop that put this Wraith together…

1Z7A8992-Edit

This is not the same as the other Benz right? This must be a E-Class or E53 AMG or something along those lines. The guy in the photo is dressed well and has good taste though…

1Z7A8995-Edit

This S13 coupe looked great, whether you’re into Itasha-style or not. I can imagine it would look great with or without the livery. Looks like it has a good collection of parts on it as well…

1Z7A9075-Edit

Of course it was already expected that the E.PRIME build would take home an award or two…

1Z7A9101-Edit

And that brings us to the conclusion of this coverage. Hopefully I can return to Japan after the Olympics this year to get some of my own photos but there’s really no definitive answer just yet as to when the border will open back up. We shall see. In the mean time, I’ll continue to have Yasu shoot stuff for me whenever he has time. Thanks to you guys for looking and continuing to support the site!…
