Seattle, as always, was a delight this year. I think looking back now, we took some calculated risks trying different stops on the Wekfest tour but there have been zero regrets about having the event in the Pacific Northwest. The vibe is just different there. I know that phrase gets overused quite a bit now but compared to any other stop on the tour, this show just feels unique to itself. Enthusiasts there have a different appreciation for quality and the older guys who helped curate this community have never left. They stayed working on their cars, sometimes building new ones but more often than not, continuing to evolve their cars which helped make the PNW great. I look forward to coming every year because it honestly feels like the people there thoroughly enjoy the show and always show their appreciation for us hosting an event there annually. They always seem so grateful for the opportunity but in all honesty, I think we are the ones that are grateful because we love providing a platform for these cars to come together and be seen…
This year I made sure to do photo coverage and video, mainly because I feel like providing both mediums help to show you more of what this show has. There’s never enough time to cover it all unfortunately. I think even if I wasn’t wearing so many proverbial hats I still wouldn’t have enough time to show you everything. But having to spend most of my day judging cars and speaking to people doesn’t leave me much time for media like it used to. Still, I tried though. As long as these events go on I think I’ll always try to have my camera out because it’s what I enjoy doing most. If you missed the Vlog episode, make sure to give it a watch. The link is HERE…
I gotta get back to being a gracious American host for our friends that came from Japan so I gotta get back to that. Enjoy the good old fashioned photo coverage of Wekfest Seattle 2025…
The morning started with a pair of green RPS13s that were set to be in the Stateside Garage display…
David Kukhar’s 240SX reimagined to 180SX spec wearing full Origin Lab Fujin aero with double-staggered bronze Volk TE37…
Derrik Pompeo’s RPS13 running an incredibly-rare GP Sports G-Sonic Evolution kit paired with Rays Nismo 57CR Clubsport wheels…
I love seeing matching cars at events. Something very cool about car people just being down to match with their friends especially in drifting because it just elevates the visual experience when you see them driving together…
Marion Ignacio’s BN Sports Defend Blister RX-7 in white…
The Seattle Convention Center is an elevated building where you can see the streets of Downtown Seattle below and at the right moments, sometimes you can see some of the cars rolling in. It’s a bit hard to capture sometimes because there are so many obstructions but you get lucky sometimes and get overhead shots like this of Bret Roy’s S15…
Tam Le’s Rotrex supercharged Integra Type R…
Nice Volkswagen Rabbit from Throttle Grotto…
Patrick Kim’s J’s Racing Type GT widebody S2000…
Nic Buettner’s GR Corolla running a Seibon carbon front lip, Sayber Designs side skirts, Grow Motorsports rear wing, and bronze Volk CE28N…

Jeff Woodruff and friends pulled-up shortly after…
Steve Kwan’s new set-up featured BBS E88 wheels paired with Endless big brakes front and rear…
Black Civic hatchback with a classic collection of parts including but not limited to, a Spoon Sports front lip, Spoon front brakes, Denji projector headlights, Mugen MF10, and red Recaro Type R seats…
Thomas Strom’s incredibly detailed and restored EK9 Civic Type R with a complete Spoon Sports catalog of parts…
Haven’t seen the rare Bomex front lip for the Zenki EK face in a while but here it is on this black Civic paired with C-West sides and Arms Grey TEs…
A couple better angles of Steve Kwan’s BMW E46 M3 with MK-Rennsporttechnik carbon front lip…
A close-up of his Endless brakes and BBS E88 set-up wrapped on Yokohama ADVAN Apex rubber…
One of the cleanest builds to show up that morning was Jacob Romero’s import Mitsubishi Evolution VI…
This is Romero’s latest Evolution build which he acquired not too long ago and has been carefully restoring and modifying since…
Most of the paint is actually original minus the front bumper. These Evolutions look good as-is so Romero hasn’t added much aero yet. Just a front splitter was installed, Ganador mirrors, and a set of original bronze Volk CE28N wheels…
Brian Madayag’s K-swapped Civic with TODA Racing individual throttle bodies running a brand new Exceed V2 front lip…
Mustbemike’s Civic hatchback with CTR face, Tactical Art front lip, First Molding carbon hood, Spoon mirrors, Project Mu front brakes, and front-staggered Rays Volk CE28N…
Chris Rafanan’s very-detailed Honda S2000 build featuring a BackYard Special front lip, Air Walker side skirts, GP Sports rear valances, Rays Volk RE30 and OEM hard top…
This AP2 also has custom interior and a Paragon big brake kit as well. The engine bay is set-up nicely too which you’ll see further down in this post…
Jeff Woodruff’s murdered-out TRA Kyoto Pandem widebody GR86 on Rays Gram Lights wheels…
The 2.4L Boxer engine was basically pulled-out immediately after the purchase of the GR86 and in went a 2JZ-GTE single-turbo swap with plenty of upgrades…
Nikolay Konstantinov’s Koguchi Power-themed RPS13 240SX is always a welcome sight when up in the Pacific Northwest…
Nice tidy engine bay with custom wheel tubs and a refreshed SR20DET set-up with Garrett turbo, custom cooling set-up with AN lines/fittings, as well as an ARC Induction box and billet intake manifold…
From this angle you get a wider view of the engine bay which also reveals a custom Radium fuel set-up…
As promised more photos of Chris Rafanan’s S2000…
The engine bay has been cleaned-up and hosts an Origin Fabrication titanium intake pipe, titanium front strut bar, and rare carbon fiber BackYard Special air intake panel…
Inside is a Nardi steering wheel, ASM shift knob paired with a Renegade Shift Kit, and reupholstered interior pieces…
Mel Diego’s EP3 Civic SI has long been a staple in the Pacific Northwest region. His Civic is a fine example of what this area has to offer and he’s been so consistent throughout the years that we decided to give him the “Judge Choice” award in 2025 to give recognition for his efforts…
TODA Racing Sports Injection Kit inside Mel’s EP3…
This BMW E30 coupe featured a Precision turbocharged Honda K-series swap utilizing the TF Works swap kit…
Some more of Jacob Romero’s Evolution VI…
…including a glimpse under the vented hood which reveals an upgraded turbo manifold for the factory 4G63 engine…
Huy Hoang’s previous “Car of the Festival” winning Mugen DC5 RSX build. This build will actually be making its way down to San Jose for the first time ever to compete at the biggest Wekfest event of the year…
It should be interesting to see how this build fairs against some of the other award-winning Honda builds at the San Jose event…
Chelsey Pacheco had a new set-up for this year’s PNW Wekfest show, including a Mode Parfume front lip and Cusco rear wing. The only thing missing was the engine, which as it turns out, was nowhere to be found…
Galileo Galang made the quick trip down from Vancouver in his Acura Integra Type-S on black TEs…
He came up with the idea to use the Voltex wing from a GR86 and adapted it to the Type-S trunk, even going as far as to mounting the wing base under the trunk to make it look more seamless. Pretty cool idea as the wing foil itself is shaped in a way where it flows well with the Integra bodylines…
R33 Skyline GT-R on Rays Volk TE37V sitting low with a Series 3 version front lip…
Lester de Gracia’s full Varis widebody FK8 Civic Type R all cleaned-up inside the Seattle Convention Center…
Danny Vasquez’s BMW 3-series wagon converted to M3 spec which required OEM E46 M3 hood, side skirts, mirrors, front bumper, conversion fenders, modified M3 rear quarter panels, and rear bumper. In the process he also added a carbon front lip, carbon fiber diffuser, some side splitters and BBS E88 wheels…
Inside the engine bay of the now-M3 wagon is a complete S54B32 M3 engine swap which was then turbocharged…
Your eyes do not deceive you, this is indeed a Honda del Sol with an EG6 front end conversion, which, to be honest, kinda looks right at home like it should have been this way all along. A Mode Parfume front lip as installed on the EG front bumper and Porsche front brakes have been retrofitted as well to pair with Work RSZ-R wheels…
If you’re gonna go as far as doing a full face swap you might as well pull the engine out and put something newer in there as well. Now residing in the engine bay of the del Sol is a K-series powerplant with some upgrades from Skunk2 Racing and K-Tuned…
Ken’s VSM K-swapped Civic hatchback won an award last year from what I remember, and it came back looking great once again this year with a First Molding front lip, Mag Blue CEs, Voltex GT wing and more…
Really clean set-up under the hood with the K-swap using bits and pieces from storied Japanese turning brands like ARC and Mugen along with a front strut bar made by local fabricator MFab…
Another shot of David Kukhar’s 240SX all set-up at the Stateside Garage booth…
And we can finally get a closer look at Derrick Pompeo’s GP Sports RPS13 with the hood propped-up…
The engine bay is actually adorned in a metallic blue flake finish with the heart of this 240SX being a stroked Toyota 3.4L 2JZ-GE which has since been turbocharged…
I put the camera away after to focus on judging and doing the MC work for the show. But once the awards were finished, I was able to grab some photos from the roll-out. The good thing about being in the Northwest is that it doesn’t get dark until like 9:30 PM so there was plenty of light to shoot outside…
Lester’s Varis FK8 is pretty photogenic so getting these shots were easy…
Didn’t get an opportunity to get photos of Dale Ibiaz’s Spoon-themed FK8 this year but I was able to shoot this quick one as he left…
Marion and his imported Mitsubishi Evolution V GSR…
Chelsey’s Civic once it made its way back out by foot…
Salvador Estrada’s turbocharged AP1 S2000 with BYS front lip and black Regamaster EVO wheels…
Danny’s turbocharged M3 Wagon exiting the building…
Charles Wong letting you know this 34GTR gets driven with the slightly toasted rear bumper…
So many more cars at this year’s show I wish I had more time to get photos of…
…but maybe next year…
Can’t help but catch a glimpse of this RWB as it drove by in bright magenta…
The Evo VI getting ready to be loaded-up so it could head back to Oregon after taking home an award…
Konstantinov and his rare Ikeya Formula aero kit exiting the convention center hall…
“Car of the Festival” or Best of Show this year went to this custom Lexus RC-F build with Kazama aero and full 2JZ-GTE swap…
This Miata looked really good on SSR Type-C wheels wearing Garage Vary Japan aero…
And one more parting shot of Salvador’s turbo S2K…
Wekfest San Jose is going to be absolutely huge this weekend. Hope to see you guys out there, thanks for looking!!…

What a refreshing sight to see a nice photo set back on The Chronicles website again! Thanks for taking these photos. It’s like the site regained its original identity again lol. Pretty sure the owners really appreciate it.
Good to see some super clean PNW rides!
Thank you Joey, for being one of the few photographers left, that are still keeping car culture and photography alive, outside of IG.
I know you don’t post much, and you are more involved with YT; but I truly appreciate this kind of posts.
The quality of the pictures… So many wallpapers!!
I stopped photographing cars a long, long time ago. SH is dead now. You are almost the only one keeping the blog side of car culture alive, please, keep at it!
Cheers from Argentina!
The Koguchi Power tribute car is one of my all time favorite state-side builds of all time. It’s as close to a perfect build in the US, as one can get.
