Eibach Honda Meet 2012 Coverage…Part 2…

I’m happy to see that a majority of you were understanding of what was said yesterday. It’s not like it’s difficult to fathom the concept of simply listening and following instructions though. No matter how many times it is said, it will continue to happen though, I fear. The same people that show up early and clutter the entire process of roll-in are the same people that don’t know how to fucking read and just make things difficult for everyone. They just don’t get that they are a problem and just want to blame everyone else. The event itself will improve but it takes time and experience to improve. Every time you are tossed into a completely new venue in unfamiliar surroundings, shit happens. You either grow along with the event are stop going to it. Go start your own event and we will all show up early and not have cash and bitch about stupid shit, how about that? Haha… This has to be a group effort among fellow car enthusiasts. Let’s all work together to make the event better instead of bitching about shit that ends up being out of our hands…

Eibach Honda Meet 2012 Coverage…Part 1…

Now, let’s dive right back into the coverage… Part 2, which you are seeing today, is probably the one out of all the remaining parts with the best overall builds I feel. You just gotta see it to believe it. If you missed Eibach and haven’t had that feeling of being jealous that you didn’t go yet, oh, it’s coming…

IMG_7913sized

I hardly ever see guys like J. aka Jason Haradon pop up at events any more so I was surprised to see them a week before at Wekfest LA as well as at Eibach 2012… Seems like a lot of guys who have had their Hondas from a generation ago are just kind of over doing events now so it’s cool to see his DA out and about in 2012… Love how simple his DA is and just how timeless it is… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7922sized

Nothing trendy about a clean Mugen-themed DA… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7923sized

DAve’s Integra is another one of the best DA builds of all time and like Jason’s, it is just utterly timeless… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7911

I don’t believe he popped his hood at Wekfest so I was finally able to get a shot of it at Eibach… Notice that there is no crazy tuck or shaved bay or anything like that. Just a well-executed engine bay that is still very clean. This is how engine bays were done before the craziness started…

IMG_7919sized

Immaculate color-matched SSR EX-C NEOs…. Love his interior as well. Peep that Wekfest LA 2012 coverage if you didn’t get a chance to look inside his Integr… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7917sized

The whole idea of re-barreling classic Japanese wheels is always a controversial topic…Some love it and some cry blasphemy at the idea of doing anything like it. While I’m perfectly okay with it, I do feel like sometimes that some people go way over the top with it, resulting in goofy looking remakes of classic wheels. I know many are on the fence about it but I think when done appropriately, like on the DA above, it actually helps to improve a look of an otherwise unattractive wheel. I’ve never been too much of a fan of the old Mugen MR-5s, other than the anniversary editions, but I like the way these look. It’s been redone in a step-lip set-up but it’s not like, 9-10 inches wide with 48 steps. When done this way, it gives the wheel an entirely new look while still retaining the classic face… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7918sized

A better look at it up close… Perhaps how a MR-5 should have looked from the start?… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7927sized

Oh man, this was definitely one of my favorite builds from Eibach 2012… The whole look of this S2000 with the Mugen kit, hard top, and hood is just menacing in combination with the mag blue CE28s and meaty tires… I was all about this car when I saw it pull up in the morning… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7929

DB Integra sedan going for the DB8 ITR look…

IMG_7932sized

Another one of my favorites was this authentic Powerhouse Amuse S2000 on Volk CE28 Genesis wheels… I don’t care what people say, the Amuse kit has to be one of the best aero kits ever made for the S2K chassis. This kit is also important because it was one of the final kits that went into production from Amuse back when the owner was still alive…. Just an amazing looking kit with a completely one-off look… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7934sized

I also love this car because the owner actually purchased the exhaust or had the exhaust fabricated as it should have been done and routed out through the rear bumper. A lot of the guys who run the Amuse replica kit just ignore that whole idea and have the exhaust routed normally while still having the two holes up top… This AP2 also has a J’s wing on it… great execution… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7937

K-swapped DC2 on some CCW Classics…

IMG_7938

Nice and simple bay… No battery relocation or fuse box tuck but still clean…

IMG_7940

EF Civic sedan on Work Meister CR01…

IMG_7942sized

Civic with EK4 SiR bumpers, TopOne canards and Regamaster Evos… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7944

A shot of the bay…

IMG_7946

IMG_7950

Spotted this coupe and thought it was interesting because of the etched floral patterns on the wheels…

IMG_7947

I thought this EG on BBS wheels was pretty clean…

IMG_7951sized

Alex Colon’s Civic with SCM front bumper and Mugen M7… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7954sized

Enrique Rosario’s Spoon-themed cream EG… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7955

As I was walking by taking photos, I ran into OldManJames and he told me that there was a really nice group of Integras a little further down the way. I made sure to try to find them and when I did, I was impressed with what I saw…

IMG_7958sized

I had only seen some of the LOI-SPEC Garage Hondas in photos online so it was good to finally see some of them in person. Really high-caliber builds and these guys actually track their cars as well… This ITR above is probably one of the best builds from that day… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7956sized

I don’t know much about these guys but damn, they don’t fuck around with their Hondas…Note the cut rear half bumper, J’s Racing front fenders and Mugen Gen. 1 wing… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7961

Interior shot… Completely random but I noticed this guy was rocking a JDM Carrozzeria (Pioneer) head unit… I used to do that back in the day too just because it was cool to have a head unit from Japan that nobody else had… To get the radio to work you had to get a frequency converter and all that stuff but hey man, it’s “JDM”. Mine was JDM until I managed to get a Three Six Mafia CD stuck in it and that’s all it would ever play…

IMG_7962sized

Spoon Sports brakes and Mag Blue Volk Racing TE37SLs with red decals on Toyo Proxes RA1… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7965sized

This ITR next to it was also pretty bad ass. Not sure what fender kit that is, might be custom, but it also has a Mugen Gen. 1 wing. Love the canard set-up and the front block-off plates in the bumper to divert air directly into the radiator…Functional and stylish at the same time… You guys already know how much I love TE37SLs… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7966sized

Another clean R, this one a Phoenix Yellow ITR with J’s Racing front duct and carbon food… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7968sized

Man these guys love TEs… I don’t blame them… This 4-door was sick. Mugen front bumper, 5-lug white TEs, front splitter, and looks to be turbo as well. Love the plexiglass inserts in the Mugen bumper and the purple accents up front…Well done… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7970sized

How about another R? This one is also on White TEs…  Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7973

This guy, also from LOI-SPEC Garage, probably felt left out because he’s the only one without in Integra, but it does have an ITR motor though and polished Mugen MF10s…

IMG_7976sized

One guy just decided to leave his ITR like this the whole day… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7977

This Accord look pretty good on BBS LMs…Wheels do look kinda small for the car though…

IMG_7979

White Spoon-themed H22-swapped CB Accord coupe on Volk TE37s and a JDM front bumper with intersection lights and headlight squirters…

IMG_7982sized

Nice K-swapped EG with TWM ITBs… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7981sized

Good job on the swap and cleaning up the engine bay…Kind of happy to see a bay without Downstar Frank’s spikes too, haha.. Love the guy but damn, those fucking spikes are everywhere… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7984sized

Spoon-themed RHD EK… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7989

Yellow EG with Spoon lip, mirrors, and bronze 17-inch Volk CE28Ns…

IMG_7988

I thought this Civic was pretty nice with the K-swap and all, and then I looked at the firewall and saw the brake lines…good lord…How did that even happen? Still a nice build nonetheless but that’s definitely something that needs to be cleaned-up badly…

IMG_7990

Civic with EK4 SiR bumpers and BBS wheels…

IMG_7991

Decided to head back to the booth for a bit for a break since the sun was beating down pretty hard. When I got back, Tony Lee from It’s JDM Yo!! was busy taking a photo with Titla McBoob…

IMG_7992

Enrique wasn’t staring at all…

IMG_7994sized

RC’s K-turbo 4-door Civic with Mugen aero and wheels alongside the All-In Fab EP3… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_7996sized

A shot of RC’s bay… I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of photos of this already… Larger Version (1400×933)

David Nguyen’s Integra LS from San Diego on Volk TE37V… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_8006

IMG_8007

J-swap CR-X from Hasport…

IMG_8008

Hasport Brian’s son’s Mugen Gen. 1 CR-X… It looks slightly different because they modified the front end…

IMG_8012

Here’s another one of Brian’s mad creations…this J-swapped Civic actually has a prototype supercharger from CT Engineering originally made for a Honda Ridgeline…

IMG_8011

There’s no plumbing for cooling yet or any sign of an engine harness but this car will run eventually. Brian also plans to turbocharge the motor as well…

IMG_8016sized

Slammed EF sedan on Work Ewing mesh wheels… Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_8017

Civic wagon with purple Work Meister S1…

IMG_8018

EF hatchback on Hiro Racing wheels…

IMG_8020

IMG_8021

Turbo EH from RISK Racing…

IMG_8023

Mugen CR-Z with mirror face MF10L…

IMG_8025sized

Always been a huge fan of this EF as well as the owner’s extensive wheel collection…  Larger Version (1400×933)

IMG_8026sized

Closing it out for today with this lovely yellow EM1 coupe on bronze Mugen MF8… I remember seeing this car a couple years ago and it’s cool that it has remained virtually identical over time… Cool idea to throw the Mugen Ferio wing on it too… Larger Version (1400×933)

Thanks for looking, back with more tomorrow….

  2. Those LOI-spec Integras are amazing..love those SLs..every single one had its own unique look..all track orientated but still different..great photos Joey! Are any of them entering into FF Battle?

  3. Great coverage as usual! There were so many quality cars there this year. I can’t believe I was just across the way from Titla and didn’t recognize her!

  4. Really great photos! Awesome coverage! Thanks for taking the time to capture the event! One day I’ll make the journey from Houston to see the meet for myself! Hopefully by then they will have less idiots making it a cluster f@ck! Can’t wait for part 3!

  5. First off great coverage and story. Crazy to see how the honda scene has evolved, people wise. Now days you either have your true enthusiast who knows what they are doing and love the cars for what they are or the “idiots” who think they are cool and mess it up for everyone else. Sad to say but the idiots will most likely be there next year too.

  6. Alex Colon’s Civic has my bumper!!!! joe!!!! it andrew tna

  7. Great coverage man! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures….sad to say I was also one of the people who couldn’t get it. =[
