At around 4 pm or so, we were all pretty beat up and tired from being out in the sun all day. I had made my way around the show a couple times but the sunlight during that time was so harsh that it made it impossible to take any photos without their being a flurry of shadows on every car. I didn’t want to waste my time taking bad photos so I just kind of hung out and chatted with friends and people I ran into who I hadn’t seen in awhile. It’s one of my favorite things to do at shows really. Seeing the cars are great and experiencing the spirit of competition is fun, but there is nothing better than being able to connect with your fellow enthusiast. Events like these provide outlets for us to reconnect with old friends and to meet new ones. I appreciate shows like Nisei Showoff because they are normally the more quieter or shows, without blaring music and hip hop performances and what not. It’s more of a grassroots type of car show where you are there merely for the cars and the people…
Even still, the heat of the day had been wearing down on us and it was time to once again escape for a brief moment and to find some salvation in the shade. My buddy Brandon runs BOWLS LA down the street and invited me over to hang out so I decided to gather up the gang along with Jonathan Wong from Super Street. We walked just a short distance from the show over to his store where we were able to enjoy some air conditioning…
If you happened to miss any of the previous two parts, please go back and look at those before you continue any further…
Nisei Showoff 2013 Coverage…Part 1…
Nisei Showoff 2013 Coverage…Part 2…
I later continued my coverage of the show but we will start off Part 3 over at BOWLS LA…
We chilled at BOWLS LA for a bit and chatted with Brandon. Jared was playing with Brandon’s dog while JDM Wong was passed out on the couch. He had been pounding beers all day and being out in the sun did a number on him. There wasn’t a whole lot to report from BOWLS. We talked, had some drinks and then made our way back to the show…
As you can see here in this shot of Randy Riggs’ G35 coupe, the sun was not helping me out with coverage. I didn’t want to continue to shoot with shadows like this so we went back over to my Odyssey at the BMD booth and relax inside the car. Later around 6 pm is when I finally got off my ass and decided to cover the rest of the show…
The awards presentation was set to begin soon as well so it made it the perfect time to shoot. The sunlight was softer and most of the show attendees were over by the front of the stage to listen to the presentation…
Ahmed Sulfab’s JUN-themed Acura Integra Type R… Bummer that he lost his INGS+1 kit awhile back but honestly, it was a blessing in disguise because I think his ITR looks so much better with the Mugen aero…

Loved how the front end of this Mazda RX-8 looked with the sun setting in the distance…WED’s Kranze Vishunu looks good on the RX-8 too which I didn’t expect…
EJ1 coupe on older Volk Racing Group-AV…
Another shot of the Supermade widebody S14 from yesterday…
I’ve been seeing a ton of Vortech supercharged Scion FR-S’ lately but Nisei Showoff marked the first occasion when I encountered a Innovate Motorsports Twin-Screw Supercharger…
I love finding the “sleeper” builds at car shows like this. I call them “sleepers” because you don’t normally expect to see these cars and while they aren’t over the top, they are cool builds that capture your attention. This DA Integra is one of those builds. I had seen it a couple times before online on the NWP forums but had no idea that it was a car I’d see in person…
Again, it isn’t anything mind-blowing but simplistic in a way where any Honda enthusiast would enjoy the car. I love the subtlety of it and how it sort of has that timeless feel to it. The spike hardware definitely puts a time stamp on it but that is entirely up to the owner of the car if he enjoys that look…
Slammed on Sprint Hart CP-Fs…
Z34 370Z with Powerhouse Amuse kit and now-discontinued SSR Type-Fs…

Luis Jaimes’ K20-swapped Civic looking good as usual…
Really like how Jose Jaimes’ CR-X looks now they he adjusted the height a little bit lower and added the front lip spoiler on his EF8 SiR front end…
Jose also owns this original JDM glass-top EF8 Civic SiR. Not a bad duo to have…
I was really surprised to hear that Cooper Boudia made the trip down from Washington to participate at Nisei Showoff. I hadn’t really spoken to him since I saw him at Eibach but it was great to see his Integra again down here in California. He says that his car is running great and doesn’t see any reason why he wouldn’t make another trip back down to Cali soon…
For whatever reason, I missed out on getting an exterior shot of Rob’s Spoon Sports Civic but here is an engine bay shot. Perfect example of how to execute a Spoon-themed bay…
MK6 VW Golf bagged on HRE wheels and rocking a huge cargo rack…
Jackson Racing supercharged Civic with blue engine bay and 16-inch Regamaster EVOs…
The Rywire E-AT, as you’ve become really acquainted with this build in the last couple of months…
As JDM Wong from Super Street said on a recent Instagram posting of Ryan’s E-AT, this is “Pretty much the perfect Honda engine bay”…
Closing it out for today with a shot of the Import Tuner/Falken Tire Eco-Project Civic. The goal behind building this Civic is to make it as lightweight and fuel efficient as possible. They actually started their cruise throughout the West Coast on Monday and are regularly updating their Instagram accounts with updates on where they are headed. The followers and fans get to decide where this car goes and you never know, it might just pop up somewhere near you. I saw the other night that they ended up showing up at a local meet somewhere in Norcal. Click the links below to see the updates…
