I think that it is important to remember the significance of the Nisei Showoff event. It is one of the only lasting import automotive events in this current generation that has a direct link to the import scene of year’s past. Though many have grown-up and moved on from the hobby, it is great to see the growing influx of enthusiasts that continue to push our community forward. Showoff presents us with a bridge that connects the new with the old and is an event that surpasses generational borders. Though the show is not what it used to be, I’m happy to see that Ken Myoshi is continuing his efforts to keep the Import Showoff name alive. I will always continue to support Ken because I respect him a ton and appreciate everything that he has done for our community in the nearly two decades that Showoff has been around. This year’s event ended on a very good note and there seems to be great momentum pushing Showoff into 2014. Hopefully those of you who missed out on the show will make it out next year to celebrate 20 great years. Let’s all do our part to keep tradition alive and ensure that enthusiasts of future generations know of the legendary Import Showoff. Life moves so quickly these days that we often forget about the past and those who paved the way for us…
Today we will look at the close of the 2013 Nisei Showoff event. As the sun set on the city of Los Angeles, show participants gathered around the stage for the awards presentation while I raced the clock to cover as much as I could before it got dark…Enjoy…
I’ve taken the liberty of attaching the links to the previous three sections so that you can all get caught up before today’s post…

One of the more compelling stories from Nisei Showoff this year had to have been Mike Schietroma and his BYS front bumper. If you guys didn’t catch it in Part 1, Mike somehow destroyed his BYS bumper on the drive out from Arizona. Not wanting to miss the show or show the car with a busted front bumper, he inlisted the help of another EBP EM1 owner, Darryl from DPK, who offered his front bumper and ARC winglets to Mike for the weekend….
I thought this photo of his broken BYS bumper was a fitting image for the weekend…
Blinged-out Lexus CT200h from R-Rydes…

VIP-styled Acura CL coupe on Linea Sport dish wheels…
Loved how this BMW E92 coupe looked on these step-lipped Work Brombacher wheels…
Can never get enough of this AE86 so I snapped one final shot of it…
This Toyota Tacoma pick-up was by no means a car show competitor but I really enjoy seeing trucks with TEs on them…
If I ever get a truck again, TE37s are definitely one of the first mods I’d do to it…
I didn’t really pay attention to the awards ceremony this time around since I was busy doing coverage but I did notice that Cooper Boudia with the red DC2 from Washington won the overall Acura Class award. Pretty awesome accomplishment for a really humble guy that made a long drive down to be a part of the Nisei Showoff event…
Rob with the Spoon-everything EG won the “Civic Class Runner Up” award…
That was pretty much a wrap for the day. After the awards, everyone cleaned-up as usual and then headed their separate ways. Congrats to Ken Myoshi for a great event and I’m definitely excited for the 20-year anniversary Nisei Showoff event in 2014. Thanks for looking!
