Yasutaka from Tactical Art sent me these photos a couple of days ago and I just barely had a chance to go through them. There are probably about 700+ photos but a lot of them are extras and many of them throwaways so it took some time to go through all of them. I’m still maybe 1/3 of the way through it but I’ll try to get some more done tonight. The photos document Tactical Art’s second trip out to Central Circuit for testing. The first time around, they had some issues with fuel delivery and spark, which really hindered the performance of the car. Still, they got some time in the car and then took it back to the shop to make the necessary repairs. The photos you’re seeing today are from a couple weeks after the initial testing…
If you know about what eventually happened to this car, these photos have a bit of significance. After this trip, they took the car back once again and prepped it for its third trial run, which took place at a different track. On that fateful occasion, Atsuki from Tactical Art had a mishap on the track and crashed it, wrecking the car and putting an untimely end to his project. I’m still going through those photos and am not 100% sure what happened, but all you really need to know is that Atsuki escaped without any injuries and the car was destroyed. It’s a shame because we really got to see this car come together here on The Chronicles and I was really excited to see its ongoing development. It had just barely come to completion a couple months ago and now it is gone. As you’re reading this, the parts have already been removed and the shell has already been delivered to the wrecking yard. They will move forward with another chassis but there was so much custom work performed on this car that the next project will hardly be the same. Hopefully it’ll be better than the last but we can always look back at these photos and appreciate the original Tactical Art EG6 circuit build….

Late night prep work on the EG6 as they get it ready for its next trial run at Central Circuit…
Atsuki and friends look over the motor and make sure everything is good to go…
The following morning, they loaded up the car on their flatbed trailer and stopped by to grab some breakfast at McDonald’s before hitting the track…
Always good to have two jacks on hand to get the car up in the air….
Before it made its first pass, they made sure to equip the vehicle with some new R-Masters Seido-Ya RM551+ brake pads. You probably aren’t familiar with the brand here in the States but have likely seen their logo represented on many circuit cars in Japan…
RM551 pads installed…
Atsuki making some wiring modifications to the interior of his EG6…
A low rear angle shot of the car. Love how aggressive it is with the cut rear bumper, custom titanium exhaust, and custom rear spoiler set-up…
Peeking through the rear subframe and control arms is the FCS fuel cell set-up and external fuel pump…
They had issues with the motor running really rich, which fouled the spark plugs so they had extras on hand to switch-out…
Atsuki installing the NGK Racing plugs…
Cool shot of the PW:JDM carbon headlight duct and how the orange ducting drives air to the individual throttle bodies. A mesh insert sits at the end of the tube to divert any unwanted debris from getting in…
Aggressive track stance with the 16×9 Work Meister S1…
Nice shot of the custom front fender and front carbon diffuser set-up….
Prepped and ready to roll…
Meaty Yokohama Advan A050 rubber for grip…
The Tactical Art EG6 leaves the paddock for its first run…
Yasutaka wasn’t able to capture video this time around but I do have some onboard camera video and clips from its run at Nakayama Circuit for next time…
After some laps, it returned to the paddock for service…
Looked like they ran into the same issues once again as the plugs came out to be checked….
The second session begins…
Everything looked to be going well as they made a couple more laps through Central Circuit and collected more data before calling it a day…
Again, sorry for no video but that’ll come in the next Tactical Art post when the car visits Nakayama Circuit. In that post you’ll get to fully experience how this car performed and how it sounded as it blasted through the track. I also have some detailed photos of the car following the crash. That’s a wrap for today. More to come soon…thanks for looking…
I am so sad this car was crashed. So many hours put in!
