Wellllll…..this is it, the final installment of the Kday Chapter 5 coverage. Shota Mori did an incredibly job of capturing the event and it was great that he allowed me to throw them up here on The Chronicles. His photos come at a perfect time because its a fucking mad house over here at home right now with everything going on. Getting almost 200 photos to post up from this great event helps to keep the content flow consistent while leaving minimal work for me while I concentrate on Year 7 and the other two events I’m attending in the coming weeks. After this series wraps, I have a ton of photos from the NO GOOD RACING 30th Anniversary event, also from Japan, but totally 100% different than anything you’ve seen in these Kday photos thus far. Both from Japan but both representative of very different ends of the Japanese car culture spectrum. As you’re looking at those photos, I’ll be hard at work finishing up the latest updates on both the Rywire ITR build as well as The Chronicles x Nemos-Garage Time Attack Civic build. Trust me, you won’t have a shortage of content to look at here on The Chronicles. I always like this time of year because the repetitiveness of the car show season is over and done with and I can show you different things that are going on whether it be here in the States or in Japan…
In any case, today is Part 3 of 3 of the Kday C5 series. Again, I’d love to make it out to this event some day as it looks like a lot of fun but until then, I’m fortunate enough to have a great photographer in Shota Mori to lend a helping hand. Takeshi Kobayashi is one of my dear friends and I am happy to witness his continued success. We’ll be celebrating soon when he makes his way back to the U.S. for SEMA and Year 7. Enjoy these photos from Sportsland SUGO, located in the scenic region of Sendai, Japan…

The fascination with all things USDM is strong over in Japan. Here is a 4th generation Mitsubishi Lancer and next to it is a Mitsubishi Mirage of the same generation which has been converted to resemble its USDM counterpart, which was a Eagle Summit sedan. For those that weren’t around back during that time, Eagle was a line sold under the Jeep brand which offered vehicles that often shared platforms with Japanese vehicles, much like how the Toyota Corolla and Geo Prism shared the same chassis but were offered as different makes and models. And that folks, is the most nerdiest car information you will read today, haha…

One of the cool ideas with this event is that the award-winners are always asked to move their cars up to center stage to receive their awards. Something that I’ve always contemplated doing but haven’t actually attempted yet…
