This is it. The final and concluding portion of this year’s Wekfest San Jose 2016 Coverage. There is still much more to see when the Vlogs are finished, but below are the final set of photos from that day. I really enjoyed this show. The trip up this year seemed a little more rushed because we left on a Saturday morning and returned Monday evening. In the past, I’d stay longer just to take in more of San Francisco and all that was going on but Tiffanie had important things going on back at home and wasn’t able to make it up until that Sunday. We’d also visited San Francisco just a couple months before that so there wasn’t a need to really head out to the touristy spots again. I think the only reason why I would spend an extended amount of time in SF would be to enjoy the nice, cold weather. The Monday after the show, we did just that. It feels amazing to go from like mid-90s temperatures back at home to like high-50s in San Francisco. I kinda wished that I headed over to the Wharf to grab some seafood but it just felt better to just hang out in the city without really doing anything but enjoying the view while Tiffanie played Pokemon Go! on her phone…
Enjoy the photos below. As you guys are reading this, we are already getting ready for our next journey out to New Jersey for the Wekfest East event that happens this weekend. I’m gonna try to shoot a ton like I have been lately while also inserting some video coverage into the mix. For those that are going to Wekfest East, I will see you real soon. Hopefully there are some new builds debuting and more great cars to see. Let’s keep the good times rolling…
Pandem widebody Civic assembled by LTMW on 15-inch Volk TE37V featuring full custom interior and currently running a single cam turbo set-up…
Two more shots of the turbocharged BMW N54-powered Nissan S14 featuring a TRA Kyoto Rocket Bunny Boss kit…
GM LSx turbocharged Rocket Bunny FD RX-7 on 3-piece CCW wheels. Curious as to why the owner chose to have a “Pandem” decal on this car when he is running a Rocket Bunny kit and the two are not the same. The Pandem kit would be the “Boss” kit which features a completely different, more retro front end…
TRA Kyoto Pandem E46, E36, and E30 BMW coupes parked in generational order…
Widebody BMW 335i from LTMW on Forgestar wheels…
Freddie Bustamante’s “#ROCKT86” Subaru BRZ airred-out on BBS LM wheels…
My buddy Jeff Correa’s VIP-styled FA5 Civic SI. I actually met Jeff over 10 years ago when I was still working at Kragen Auto Parts in San Diego. Back then I had my Accord and he was playing around with a white EG Civic. Crazy to think back at how long it has been since then…
Pandem E46 M3 Cabriolet on RSV Forged wheels from the great state of Texas…
I couldn’t close-out this series of WFSJ 2016 coverage without giving a great deal of thanks to my amazing significant other, Tiffanie Marie, for shooting a wedding the night before in LA and then taking a early morning flight out to San Jose to help me run The Chronicles booth with Yuta Akaishi. She showed-up at 10 am, we grabbed some coffee, and headed back to the San Jose Convention Center where she set up the entire booth with merchandise and all, and stood on her feet all day to greet supporters of the site. I don’t know how she does it but I’m glad we are both willing to grind together…
Zenki S14 240SX Navan still rocking the KA24DE motor. Love Ganador Super Mirrors and it automatically makes any car like 1000x better when I see them, haha. Work VS-XXs are a nice touch too…
Bagged Mitsubishi Evolution on really aggressive SSR Professor SP3 wheels. Looks like the owner is running Varis aero pieces here and there. Nice car. Not really big on bagged Evos and STIs but I can dig it when executed nicely…
Evasive Motorsports’ Ben Sopra R35 GTR on brand new Volk Racing TE37 Ultra Track Edition wheels…
Always been a fan of this green Evo IX from the Bay Area. Looks even better now on Advan Racing GT wheels…
KA9 Acura RL with what looks to be an Evolution front lip and Auto Couture Magnifique wheels…
Another shot of the DC5 RSX parked at the SELLOUTS booth with the individually-throttle K20A and custom engine bay…
Always good to see well thought-out builds like this even though they aren’t always appreciated for their period-correct styling…
Aimgain widebody Z34 370Z on Work Meister S1 wheels sized correctly to fit under the widened panels…
Speed Element R33 Skyline GT-R looking nice and simple on Rays wheels…
Love white on white R32 GT-Rs. This one featured new Volk Racing TEs and Cusco bucket seats…
Jay Altamirano’s Laguna Seca Blue Varis-equipped Mitsubishi Evo VIII on Volk ZE40 wheels that I had the pleasure of writing a feature for awhile back for Super Street magazine…
I thought this truck looked really cool slammed to the ground in a crowd of really clean showcars. It was a little rough around the edges which added some character to the rows and rows of pristine show cars. Also like the 6-lug SSR wheels. I forget the exact model but I actually found a set for my buddy back in the early 2000s on EBay of all places…
Bursting out of the engine bay of this CD Accord coupe on Dunlop Formula Hart wheels was a Prank Parts supercharged J32A V6 swap. Not sure how the owner manages to drive this car around anywhere without getting attention from local authorities because the blower definitely doesn’t leave a whole lot left to the imagination…
Ira Alani Fouquette’s Acura TSX with an insane amount of engraving work throughout the car inside and out. Definitely not styled to your typical import automotive build but the craftsmanship makes this car a one-off piece of art…
Ivan from Downshift Klick’s K-powered Acura Integra with JDM ITR front end conversion, BYS front bumper, and Mag Blue Volk TEs…
Jose Del Villar’s RHD K20 EF9 Civic SiR from Downshift Klick…
You don’t see very many K-swapped DA Integras like, ever because of the low oil pan clearance. This DA is one of the rare ones and features an even rare OEM optional lip kit. Brian Nguyen, the owner, said he found the lip kit complete at a local junkyard, saved it, and had it refinished before fitting it on his Integra…
Iakona’s CD Accord is one of the long-time Accord builds that I looked-up to back when I had my Accord. I hadn’t seen it in awhile and was surprised that it was still around. Turns out that he’s had this Accord since it was brand new and still constantly adding new things to it…
I got super busy when the show started so I wasn’t able to shoot again until after the awards were presented and car show participants were on their way out of the Convention Center…
Darren’s Porsche 991 lining-up to exit the facility…
Rotiform YVR custom-built to 991 GT3 specs…
Phaze2 Mikey’s 997 with the Crooks Corsa livery for the final time…
F82 M4 coupe on BBS FI-R…
Thomas’ Liberty Walk Audi S5 heading back to Houston, Texas…
Voltex widebody Evo on Advan Racing TCIII…
Legit RHD AE86 Corolla Trueno on SSR Longchamp wheels from JDM Palace…
A pair of Impala lowriders from ATS Garage USA…
At the rate the cars were lining-up to exit, it might have been easier if the owner just walked this BMW out…
Didn’t have enough time to check out this Civic build thoroughly but was able to snap a photo of it as it was leaving…
Flared AE86 Corolla on Work Meister CR-01 in its familiar black/white motif…
Another shot of the Evasive R35 GTR…
The sun was starting to set outside so I decided to head out to the exit to capture whatever was outside…
I really like this Pandem E36 coupe. The color, livery, and wheels just flow so well with the box flares of the TRA Kyoto kit…
Yasu and Freddie enjoying some smokes while chatting while Lay finally had a chance to breathe after the show ended to hang out with Tiffanie…
Glad to know that everyone enjoyed themselves at the San Jose Wekfest event, even after the festivities ended…
Hiro Ueda from Wekfest Japan made the trip out to share some laughs with everyone…
David Uy and his GT3-themed Ferrari 458 heading home…
A glimpse of the rear end of the Varis Magnum Opus Lexus RC…
Matt Fields took a break from competitive drifting to park his car near a wall within the San Jose Convention Center. Missed out on the opportunity to get some detailed photos of his S14. Maybe next time I suppose…
Well, that’s that. One more shot of the Pandem Civic before I put my camera away…
Thanks for looking and hoped you enjoy the coverage…
Aww… I was hoping my 22b sti was noticed at least somewhere but alas it wasnt. Just means that i need to make more of a presence for itself. Anyhow, glad to have met you and tiffany and tell you how you are truly a cool person that inspires me. Hope to see more awesomeness. @luvazns
Sorry I missed it. Keep up the good work nonetheless!
Hiro always bringing the infectious laugh..thanks again for an excellent coverage!
not a single picture of the black fd3s with the ls3 swap?
nice one, looks like a great event and the cars are all stunning. Good mix of content as well
I have always loved iakona’s Accord as well! Great to know he still has it…
