Spocom Anaheim 2017 Coverage… Part 3 of 3…

Hopefully you guys have had a chance to listen to the newest podcast I posted the other day. It’s a long listen but we talk about a lot of relevant issues, one of them being Spocom in particular. I also think that it is an important listen too because it talks about the differences between the car show scene of today and how things were back in the early 2000s. You’ll learn something from it, I promise. The podcasts run kinda long because we actually know each other very well so we’re just chatting most of the time and there’s just a very natural flow to it. If you haven’t given it a shot yet, I sure hope you do. It’s an enjoyable experience…

Okay, today, we’re going to be looking at the last batch of photos that I captured during the 2017 Spocom Anaheim event. Most of these photos were taken during the early afternoon before the show started. I had a lot of time on my hands since I rolled my own car into the show pretty early and was just hanging out while the rest of the cars were still setting-up. I always enjoy shooting inside the Anaheim Convention Center. It’s very well-lit and the dark floors actually give a good amount of light-bounce and the cars pop a lot more because of the darker surroundings. I spent a good amount of time just capturing whatever caught my eye but then I had to leave for lunch and by the time I got back, people were starting to crowd into the show so I switched over to doing the Vlog coverage instead. Make sure to head over to the YouTube channel to watch that because it will give you a much more personal feel at the show…

Before I go I’d like to thank Freddie and the guys from Autofashion USA for giving me a prime spot at the Spocom event. Like, they literally put my car right by the front door, which was pretty awesome of them to do since they have so many better cars to put up there. I always appreciate Freddie’s support and if it weren’t for him, I don’t know if I would have even gone to the show this year. He and Kevin made things so easy for me this year. Those dudes are amazing I swear…

On that note, that’s another year for Spocom Anaheim. Looking forward to the next one in 2018…

Enjoy the photos!…

Okay, story time…

So while I was walking around the show before the doors opened to the public, I decided to shoot some more and get some good detail shots of Jeremy Allgier’s Prelude. I chatted with Jeremy for a bit and then he went to go eat his hot dog, and I started snapping away. Some random guy comes up to me, probably much younger than I, I imagine he’s in his early 20s, and he approaches me and goes “Hey man, this is a really nice Prelude.”

I’m like “yeah man, it sure is.”

He goes “Is it your’s?”

Uhh.. I mean, I guess it would appear that it might be mine because I’m in the general vicinity of the vehicle but I’m also shooting photos of it with a tripod and all. So I go “nah man, he’s over there eating a hot dog or whatever.”

He responds; “Oh cool, so like, are you shooting for anyone or are you just an Instagram photographer?”

Me: “Uh, nah, I’m just an Instagram photographer I guess.”

He goes “Nice man, well let me give you my card.”

He turns his backpack around to the front and pulls out a lighter and hands it to me…

“Yeah, you can keep the lighter TOO.”

And I guess his business card is this Bic lighter that he put his Instagram user handle on with a vinyl decal.

Strange, but, I can’t knock that hustle I guess.

Thanks, from one “Instagram Photographer” to another.

I was so perplexed by the whole thing that I didn’t even get a chance to take an exterior photo of Jeremy’s Prelude…

Anyways, moving on…

  1. “Jaycray’s Rocket Bunny Lexus RC F on Work Meister L1 wheels and Airlift Performance suspension…”

That’s not correct. It is an RC350 F Sport. Big difference. I hope he hasn’t telling people that it’s an RCF. lol
