Things have been pretty busy over here in the past few weeks, as I’ve been busy trying to get all the Battlecraft x Chronicles Year10 shift knobs out to everyone that was fortunate enough to order one in time. I’ve also been planning out the Year10 event as well and that takes up so much of my month that time just flys right by. Content flow has been a little slow here because of everything that is going on but this past Saturday, I decided to get out of the office for a morning to go check out the monthly Period Correct meet down in Costa Mesa, CA. David and some of the others seem to go any time there is a meet down there but I myself have never been, so I wanted to see what it was all about. Euros aren’t really my thing but I mean, I enjoy cars in general so I like to see new things whenever I can. Porsche stuff is always kinda cool to me and I enjoy the nostalgia so it seemed like a good time to pull out the camera to get some photos. Wekfest Houston is coming up this weekend so it was the perfect time to get reacquainted with my camera so I can be at my best when I’m down in Texas shooting all the cool shit out there. I recently purchased a new gimbal for the GoPro too so I wanted to test it out. There was this annoying clicking sound that came with the previous gimbal and I wanted to rid myself of that pesky sound but this new gimbal is a little different and I worry it’ll pick up the noise from the motor itself so I really wanted to figure it out before I do anymore filming. I have yet to go through the footage but hopefully this fixes all problems we have had in the past. Things should be getting better in general because I recently ordered the new GoPro 7 as well and that thing looks pretty amazing in terms of its stabilization. Hell, not only will we finally have 4K video at 60fps but with the way it stabilizes, it looks like I might not even need a gimbal in the future, so I’m pretty excited about that. Until all that cool shit happens though, check out some of the photos I captured this past weekend. It’s only a small batch but I think you will get a good idea of what the Period Correct meet-ups are all about. Enjoy…
Not the typical cars you’d see here on The Chronicles but it’s always nice to switch things up a bit. I actually wish I had shot more but I was playing around with a new GoPro set-up and we honestly didn’t have a whole lot of time since the meet is only about two hours long…
I finally got to see my friend Jared’s 964 with his new Volk TE set-up. His car is absolutely mint and the TE37 wheels in Porsche format look fantastic…
Ho Dao’s Integra has been everywhere this year from events like the Eibach Honda Meet to the Japanese Classic Car Show and even a smaller event like this one. Always nice to see his set-up of re-barreled and refinished Mugen MR-5s paired with that oddball Kaminari front bumper…
If you like classic air-cooled Porsches and VWs, this is the meet for you…
Shot of David and Derek’s E46 M3s with their respective wheel set-ups…
DPK David’s white E46 M3 on Enkei NT03…
Derek’s silver E46 M3 running a concave Volk TE set-up in silver…
A beauty of a W124 Mercedes wagon planted on the pavement, bagged on BBS wheels…
Rob The Crook’s Mercedes W126 AMG complete with wheels and rear 3-piece wing and all. I believe this might be a 560SEL being that it is a long wheelbase model…
Upon closer inspection, I also realized that this was a Japan-spec model that was most likely imported because it still had the original Japanese vehicle registration decal on it and the interior had Japan-spec panels and labeling. On a side note, Rob always has the coolest cars and he has such an eclectic collection of rare oddball vehicles like this…
Jessy’s Porsche 997 Carrera S on custom BBS Racing centerlock wheels which have been converted to 5×130 bolt pattern and wrapped on Hoosiers…
GT3 front bumper swap and GT3 RS front fender flares added to the face of Jessy’s 997…
RJ de Vera checking out this 964 turbo which was for sale…
Another shot of Jessy’s Porsche, I really dig how the wheels came out after the faces were drilled for the lug conversion. Almost look as if they came that way from the factory…
His rear bumper has been cut in half to expose the custom-made exhaust by Wisecraft…
The exhaust set-up had all kinds of people curious about it, and people were crawling all over the ground trying to study the details…
One more of Jared’s 964 on TEs after the E30 M3 next to it left, allowing for a better angle of the car…
That’s about it. Again, I didn’t take too many photos and just hung out for a little bit. We had lunch after nearby and then I headed back to the shop to see what Yuta was up to as he was prepping a couple of cars for the Year10 event coming up at the end of the month. Thanks for looking, that’s wrap on this one…
