Well, it’s been quite a journey leading-up to its completion, but it finally happened, the RS Future K20 turbocharged Acura NSX is up and running. There were some hiccups here and there, along with some time constraints, but Amir and friends were literally able to complete the car during the first day of this year’s Super Lap Battle, presented by Global Time Attack. While most were practicing and prepping for competition, the boys were busy putting the final touches on the K-swapped NSX and woke up bright and early to get some recon laps in during competition day. It was by no means “finished” in terms of the car being dialed-in and ready to set personal best lap times or anything, the car was just finally in a stage where Amir could shake it down at Buttonwillow with the help of Kristian Wong’s tuning expertise. I decided to try something a little different and mounted a GoPro inside the engine compartment. There was a strong possibility the thing could be lost inside and destroy some things, but hey, no risk, no reward, right? The end result is some pretty unique footage, but more importantly, the sound we picked-up…oh boy…it’s music to the ears my friends. Just the compressor surge and blow-off alone is worth the watch.
