Dinner in Yokohama with Cody…

After spending the first few days of the new year exploring Tokyo on my own, I finally decided I needed to be social and met-up with my good friend @zerosync. He spends half of his year here in Japan and has his own car(s) so he said he would take me around. Cody asked me what I wanted to do and I told him I’m pretty much open to anything. He took my words to heart and took me to Costco so he could buy stuff for his place, lol. I mean, I didn’t mind at all. You’d be surprised how often people in Japan take me to Costco. It’s like if you take me to Costco it automatically makes the Japanese Costco somewhat more-American. I’m always there to support my friends so let’s go make a day of it…

Of course, he took me to many other places and also offered to show me a North Korean spy ship that had been captured years ago, which honestly is pretty interesting, but alas, it was not open that afternoon. Then he took me to dinner at this place called Ikkaku, which is essentially this unique style of (rotisserie) chicken which originated from Kagawa prefecture. I love rotisserie chicken and used to wait until the end of the night at the supermarket for the ‘reduced price’ tag to go on them when I had no money so this was also right up my alley…

I’m starting to think that either Cody knows me really well or we just enjoy the same things. Who knows. After dinner he took me to Daikoku PA where we stared at cars with other random foreigners. We didn’t see anything that really caught our eye until this crazy Voltex Evo 9 MR wagon showed-up but I’ll save that photo for another time. And that concludes my day of social interaction with Cody, a guy I’ve known for 15 years or so now who I see in Japan more than I do at home…

Oh yeah, he also has a really nice set of bronze Volk ZE40s on his silver FD2 Civic Type R now…

  1. This is the perfect traditional Joey Lee post we all know Stickydiljoe.com for. Now imagine if we can have these candid blog posts more often with Joey’s now mature and refined photography mindset and new equipment.

I think you might be able to motivate car blogging again!

That FD2 and this post is bombtastic!

  2. What front fenders does the FD2R have?
