While yesterday was a post that consisted of more people content and things going on during the early afternoon at Wekfest, today’s post will be 100% car content. Things will look a little different to you today because the coverage for today and tomorrow were shot from a completely different camera. Consequently, in terms of sheer photographic content, the next set of posts are probably my favorite. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with ATS Anh’s new Nikon D800 camera. The D800 is one of the best cameras out right now and probably one of the flagship DSLRs from Nikon. I know absolutely nothing about Nikons other than what I have read. I knew the D800 was out and the main competitor with the new Canon 5d MKIII, but I never knew that I would have the opportunity to shoot with it. It’s like, a $3500 camera and I am in no position to purchase something of that caliber right now. Just carrying it around for a couple hours was strange enough as it is because the lay-out of the camera is completely different than a Canon, which I use. The buttons all over the place made it seem like alien technology to me but the results, in my opinion, were great….great considering that I didn’t even know how to use the fucking thing and just snapped away with whatever settings were presently on the camera. Even Anh is still in the process of getting to know the camera himself. He’s either a very trusting man or thinks I have a lot of money because I walked off with this thing for like 4 hours and he didn’t even care….haha. Everything from here on out for the remaining portions of coverage were all shot with a Nikon D800. I don’t know shit about photography to start with but I think the overall results were good. I liked some of the shots so much that I even included links to larger versions so you can see the photos in really high resolution. This thing is like 36.3 megapixels or some shit so the detail in the photos are very, very fine. I wish I knew how to use this thing, maybe the photos would have came out even better, who knows…
If anything, I think I am now disappointed with what I am stuck with because I now see the shortcomings of the camera I have now… Being able to shoot coverage with this thing was a real tease and now I am itching to get a better camera. Realistically, I could buy like, 5 of the camera I have now with the money it costs to buy a D800. I really want a 5D MKIII though but that shit isn’t ever going to happen…They are both around the same price and I think I will ultimately end up with the 5D MKII… Anyways, you’ll have seen many of the cars in the coverage already but I essentially re-shot the whole event with the D800. There are too many fucking buttons on this thing but damn, I fell in love with this camera for a couple hours…. Enjoy the photos below. I know many of you visit other websites where they have multiple photographers but how about a site where it’s just one photographer shooting with multiple cameras? Haha… only on stickydiljoe.com… Thanks for looking folks and I hope you are as happy with the photos as I am…
Missed the previous three parts of Wekfest LA 2012 coverage?… Never fear, I have attached the links to each post below…

Wekfest LA 2012 Coverage… Part 3: The People, The Cars, The Afternoon…
Now, on with Part 4. There are links attached to various images that I shot that I really liked. Clicking them will take you to higher resolution versions of the photos. If you have the opportunity, please view these in all their glory on a personal computer and not your smart phone. It’s hard to really grasp the quality of the photos by just looking at them on a smartphone. I’m not the boss of you so you look at them however you want, but I would prefer it if you looked at them in their intended size…haha…thanks!..
Special shout-out goes to Anh Truong from ATS Garage for trusting me with his investment…

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I’m sure that’s true, but I instantly felt poorer after seeing this Bentley convertible by the water front…
If I didn’t feel poor enough, I then spotted this Maserati with wheels I wouldn’t put on it…
Fred from ATS and I were talking all morning about how everybody was wearing camo shorts that day.. Apparently there was some sort of memo posted on the flyer or something stating that you had to have camo shorts on to come into the show. I too was guilty of rocking camo shorts. From a distance, looking at the grass area of the show, everyone looked like they were just floating torsos…camo camo everywhere….
Big Mike needs no introduction…
I am pretty much over staring at CCW wheels but I really liked this white Subaru STi…. Larger Version (1400×933)
Very nice AE86 Corolla on Watanbe wheels… Don’t lie, you stared at the license plate and tried to sound out “XAE 86X”… Now you probably feel like a dumbass…you are not alone…
Leon Casino and his CR-X in good spirits after his recent accident when he was struck by a truck while riding his Ruckus… The past statement makes no sense because CR-Xs cannot express emotions but I’m happy that Leon is doing better…

Aggressive angle on Michael Mao’s NSX…Love how the rear of this thing looks now with the exhaust and intercoolers… I too am looking pretty official in the reflection on his rear bumper… Blurry Rodrez in the background, not the old man on the left…
Another shot of Mike’s NSX on custom Mugen MF10s….Chaba in the background talking to some dude about something that probably wasn’t all that interesting. I walked by and saw her give me that “Hey save me” face but I was busy…Yeah, BUSY…standing…over here…taking pictures… Larger Version (1400×933)
I can’t think of a clever caption for this photo so I will move right along…

Thanks to this guy for standing in front of this S2000 the whole time I was trying to get a photo of it… the open door kind of fucks it up anyways, but hey, I tried…

I was pretty impressed with the engine bay on the All-In Fab Civic coupe…the exterior is just not that attractive at all…Wheels don’t fit, car is kind of floating and I can’t really say the lime green goes with the blue hue on the chassis…Engine bay is cool though…The guy can fabricate and weld, that’s for sure. Putting together a car though…I am still on the fence about that…
Again, nice execution of the engine bay… Larger Version (1400×933)
