Hi all, welcome back to our ongoing Wekfest Japan 2018 Coverage. In the first section, you got to see many of the great builds of the show rolling into the venue. Today, we’re gonna check-out some of the cars inside with a more detailed look at engine bays and all that good stuff. What I enjoy the most about this event is the variety. I know in Part 1 I said things can always be better but I mean, so far, I can’t really complain as far as the quality of cars goes. I just love seeing how the Japanese continue to evolve their style and execution, as well as how they interpret popular styles from different parts of the world. They seem to always have a lot of pride in what they do and it shows. Their cars just have a different level of quality to them and it comes from a lot of hard work and dedication. There are still more photos from this event coming but all the photos you see today were captured early in the morning before the show even started. Once the show did start, I found myself busy judging for Wekfest and covering the event in video form. I got some family stuff to take care of along with catching up on all the other aspects of The Chronicles, like orders and what not, so I gotta get going. Thanks for looking guys, enjoy…
Hopefully all you guys enjoyed all the great cars from Part 1, including the Inazumaworx AE86 Trueno. By far and wide some of the best in the world…
Kohei Miyata’s Spoon Sports-equipped AP2 S2000 from LEVEL ONE Japan…

Tomohiro Sudo’s Honda Civic Shuttle representing Southiiiiide Auto Custom…
Taku Kusugami debuted the new iteration of his EK4 Civic hatchback build at Wekfest Japan 2018. For those of you who don’t know, this Civic was one of the original trio of Hondas that first brought my attention to Tactical Art years ago. It appeared on the cover of Super Street magazine not too long after that but has been sitting for awhile. For 2018, Taku added a Tactical Art front lip, carbon air duct, and a fresh set of Volk Racing TE37 Sonic wheels…
I don’t think many of you realize that the engine bay was never really completed on this car either. It was actually white under the hood. Atsuki from Tactical Art completely redid the engine bay this year and went with an “all-Japanese” motif, using only Japanese-made tuning parts and OEM Honda hardware…
The centerpiece of the new set-up are the TODA Racing individual throttle bodies…
Here you can see the Spoon Sports wire and wrinkle blue valve cover, along with the TODA Racing fuel rail which directs fuel to the individual throttles…
USDM LHD Honda Accord Wagon bagged on Work Emitz wheels…
Right next to it was a LHD EJ1 Civic coupe, also bagged, and sitting on CCW forged wheels…
Masatoshi Shimizu’s naturally-aspirated FC3S RX-7 on Panasport G7 ST5 wheels…
The engine bay of Shimizu’s FC has been smoothed-out and resprayed, with a custom V-mount radiator set-up with a non-turbo 13B engine at the center of it all…
Just a super clean, timeless set-up for a car that we don’t see enough of in 2018…
Red Hakosuka Skyline flared, sitting on bronze Volk Racing TE37V…
Nakkan’s Old&New Porsche slant-nose on gold Rotiform wheels…
Yousuke Tsuji’s Pandem Porsche Boxter representing 9010design…
Oka’s Pandem Porsche 987 Cayman on Barramundi Design forged wheels…
Oka’s company, 9010design, is a custom interior ship and they do some incredible work. Here you can see his front trunk set-up with the warped panels, compressor, and air tank…
Here’s a closer look at the suede-wrapped air tank with the Porsche and Accuair logos embedded. Just great attention to detail. Also loved that Oka went as far as to even wrap sections of the Viair air compressor…
The backside of Oka’s 987 Cayman sitting on the floor thanks to Accuair suspension…
Do you guys remember Mao Nakai and his purple Skyline sedan with custom yellow interior? Well, he decided to build something else and created this Pandem Porsche Boxster on Work Meister S1 wheels…
His set-up is very similar to Oka’s, being that 9010design was also responsible for the interior work in this Porsche…
Looks like no section of this interior was left untouched, even the Nardi steering wheel has been rewrapped to match…
A look at the Pandem kit from the side, tucking Advan Neovas…
Keigo Okada’s Honda Integra Type R on CCW wheels, the last build put together by Tactical Art before Yasu parted ways with the company…
B18C R engine in the tucked engine bay running Kinsler individual throttle bodies and a tucked Rywire radiator set-up….
From here you can see where the Rywire engine harness runs to along with a look at the horns of the Kinsler ITBs…
The Wekfest Japan “Car of the Festival” winner, Masafumi Eto’s real-deal Acura Integra DB2 GS-R sitting on chromed Volk TE37 wheels with Alcon big brakes…
Built B17A GS-R engine with TODA Racing head work and a billet valve cover utilizing a coil-over-plug ignition set-up…
Eto is also running Kinsler individual throttle bodies and, as you can see above, a catalog of XRP hoses for anything that needs plumbing…
Hiro from LEVEL ONE Japan’s USDM NA2 Acura NSX wearing a Spoon Sports front bumper, Craftsquare carbon side mirrors, and a Voltex GT wing…
Kohei Miyata not only owns the yellow S2000 from LEVEL ONE, he also owns this turbocharged 13B FC3S RX07…
I guess you can say Kohei has pretty good tastes and knows what he’s doing…
Speaking of skilled craftsmanship, by far one of the best things going on in Japan right now is Norifumi Kobayashi’s Accord Wagon. I’ve seen this thing go from a nice street cruiser when it was white to a full-bred show car competitor. He’s already been featured in a few magazines and continues to evolve his build. For this year’s Wekfest, he debuted his new set-up featuring a Mugen front bumper…
Inside the cleaned-up and tucked engine bay is a supercharged K set-up with the blower recoated to match the valve cover and black accents of the exterior…
Hidetugu Ishimoto’s USDM CL9 Acura TSX from LEVEL ONE Japan…
Ishimoto debuted a new engine bay set-up for this year’s Wekfest, with a engine bay that is now shaved smooth, running some custom fabricated, dimple-died, reinforced plates and OBX individual throttle bodies…
Nice radius and widebody work on this S14 Silvia on Work Meister M1 wheels. Check out that cage inside which has been recoated white to match the engine bay and interior…
The engine bay also features a tube-framed core support, reinforced and tubbed wheel wells, along with an SR20DET powerplant…
Here’s the front end of that crazy widebody NSX that I posted in Part 1…
Yuki Takebayashi’s award-winning VW MK1 Westmoreland Rabbit from Crazy Rabbit Crew, running BBS wheels with included aero discs installed….
That’s a wrap for Part 2. Still got some more photos to come so stay tuned. There’s a new Vlog coming this weekend as well, if I find enough time to finish it up. Thanks for looking!…
Most of these bumpers are Fiberglass, any ideas how to keep the undercarriage of them from damaging ?.
