Wekfest Japan 2018 Coverage… Part 2…

Hi all, welcome back to our ongoing Wekfest Japan 2018 Coverage. In the first section, you got to see many of the great builds of the show rolling into the venue. Today, we’re gonna check-out some of the cars inside with a more detailed look at engine bays and all that good stuff. What I enjoy the most about this event is the variety. I know in Part 1 I said things can always be better but I mean, so far, I can’t really complain as far as the quality of cars goes. I just love seeing how the Japanese continue to evolve their style and execution, as well as how they interpret popular styles from different parts of the world. They seem to always have a lot of pride in what they do and it shows. Their cars just have a different level of quality to them and it comes from a lot of hard work and dedication. There are still more photos from this event coming but all the photos you see today were captured early in the morning before the show even started. Once the show did start, I found myself busy judging for Wekfest and covering the event in video form. I got some family stuff to take care of along with catching up on all the other aspects of The Chronicles, like orders and what not, so I gotta get going. Thanks for looking guys, enjoy…

Taku Kusugami debuted the new iteration of his EK4 Civic hatchback build at Wekfest Japan 2018. For those of you who don’t know, this Civic was one of the original trio of Hondas that first brought my attention to Tactical Art years ago. It appeared on the cover of Super Street magazine not too long after that but has been sitting for awhile. For 2018, Taku added a Tactical Art front lip, carbon air duct, and a fresh set of Volk Racing TE37 Sonic wheels…

I don’t think many of you realize that the engine bay was never really completed on this car either. It was actually white under the hood. I guess you can say Kohei has pretty good tastes and knows what he’s doing…

309A7260-Edit

Speaking of skilled craftsmanship, by far one of the best things going on in Japan right now is Norifumi Kobayashi’s Accord Wagon. I’ve seen this thing go from a nice street cruiser when it was white to a full-bred show car competitor. He’s already been featured in a few magazines and continues to evolve his build. For this year’s Wekfest, he debuted his new set-up featuring a Mugen front bumper…
