To get a better feel for the East Coast at Wekfest this year, we added two major things this year, one of them was model Faith Marone (because these guys love their models) and the other was inviting the guys from PRIME NYC to host their own special display. Faith was brought out to the event as more of an “ambassador” so she just walked around and chatted with people, encouraged others to interact, etc. I think it was a good thing. Being that these guys are so focused within their own bubble, it made sense to have someone there that was familiar with the community and its people from out there. It wasn’t difficult to have her there, and I didn’t talk to her, but she seemed nice, so I think it worked out well for the show. PRIME, for those unfamiliar, is probably the biggest media outlet from that area covering the automotive tuning scene. They do a great job of hosting events, covering events, and generally just being the people to try to continue to push that community forward. I’ve been following their work for some years now and when the idea came up to have them host their own display, I thought it was perfect. Prav and crew are very connected with enthusiasts there so we had no doubt they would bring a solid collection of good build to the event. I didn’t actually take any photos inside the event this year so I can’t really show you what they all brought out, but trust me, it looked great. They even had their own special awards to present to that group of guys for their car builds throughout the years. Also worth noting is how thankful we are of their patience that morning. Their whole display area was supposed to set up at the very end of the morning because they had a section by the loading area specifically for them, and these guys were there since the early morning just hanging out, shooting, and chatting with people. We didn’t get them in until right before the show started and these guys were so organized and helpful. Everything went smoothly the whole layout of the show worked-out really well…
While all that was going on, I was outside shooting as much as I could. There were cars any and everywhere so I tried to shoot as much as I could during that morning. In this section of photos, you’ll see more of the cars from EMOTION rolling in, some from Tough Club, some other really good builds that came pouring in that morning, and we close with a few photos from one of the other top car clubs from this area, Team Regiment Zero. If you like RX-7s, there are some good ones from them. There are still more photos to come as well, but we should be closing things out with a total of three parts. Enjoy and thanks for giving it a thorough look…
