Year10 Chronicles & Coffee Meet Coverage…

One of the main reasons why it made sense to have a gathering at HQ after the Year10 Anniversary Meet was due in part to a wedding that was happening that same day. My friend Ejay Adriano had long been planning his wedding before I finalized the date for my event and they just happened to overlap. Being as we have a lot of mutual friends just knowing one another for so many years, there were a few guys who would normally be helping me out with my event that had to attend the Adriano wedding. Purely for FOMO (Fear of missing out) reasons, I wanted to make sure the guys who went to the wedding had the appropriate time to hang out with all the people who had come from so far for the weekend just to be a big part of Year10. Prior to this meet, we had only done one other “Chronicles & Coffee” at our location and for security reasons, we kept it small, only inviting a small group of our friends to see how things would go. I knew going into it that there would be a possibility that this meet might get too big and unmanageable, so I didn’t announce that it was evening happening until the afternoon of Year10. I literally waited until the end of the day to announce it to the people who attended the event and then posted just a simple flyer on Instagram. Even the people who had come from out of town had no real idea what was going on before that. I just told them that there would be something happening that Sunday morning and to try to delay their departure back home until late Sunday or even Monday. Everything sort of fell into place after that and we had a great crowd of enthusiasts for the Year10 version of Chronicles & Coffee. The gathering wasn’t too long, only just three hours, where people brought their cars out to enjoy the Sunday morning with some coffee and donuts. I myself had to prepare for my drive to Las Vegas the following day so I wanted to make sure I was packed and had everything in order since I’d be gone for a week. Compared to the madness that was Year10, the Sunday meet was essentially the total opposite. There was no loud music, not nearly as many cars, and a crowd of car people who were probably still tired from the long Saturday. It also helped that it wasn’t 90 degrees like it was in Corona. The morning was mostly cloudy and had a nice breeze, which is always the preferred weather for any car gathering. All in all, it was a good morning and a nice little end cap to the weekend. We came, we saw, we ate donuts, drank coffee, stared at some cars, and we went about our day. I even took some photos. That’s what you’ll see below. Thanks for all who came out and spent the morning with us. I know its not easy to get up early on a Sunday. Hopefully it was worth it….

One of the cars that people didn’t get a chance to see at Year10 was the new Hybrid Racing demo car, built in-house here at The Chronicles/Battlecraft HQ by Yuta Akaishi. The deadline just got a little too tight and Yuta was worn out by the time Year10 came around so it was decided that the car would remain at the shop and be displayed at The Chronicles & Coffee Meet. Those who stopped by got to see the latest progress on the car that will be coming together pretty soon. All the exterior pieces are in place and just need to be installed while most of the work remaining will be devoted to the engine set-up and getting it up and running…

A straight-on shot of the Civic, which for those unaware, is actually Kristian Wong’s white Civic hatchback that he’s been campaigning for a few years now but has been down and in pieces for the past 4 years or so. I’m sure you guys are curious as to what front bumper that is and you’ll be happy to know that it is a rare Truth Motorsports front bumper. There are only two that are known of in North America currently. One was once in the possession of Sean Lucas from Narita Dogfight (and has since been sold) and the other is this one laying on the pavement in front of the Civic that it will eventually be mounted on…
