The past few weeks have been more of a catch-up period for myself personally. I haven’t flown anywhere in a while so I’ve been trying to get situated at home with real life shit. Looking at all these photos from Attack make me miss Japan a little bit, but I’ve spent so much time there this year that I’m happy to just be sitting in front of my computer and catching up on shows on Netflix…

Around this time it always feels like a little bit of a gap between doing car stuff and just not doing absolutely anything, so I guess it works out quite nicely that I took so many photos at Tsukuba Circuit. Car show season is picking up over here in about a month so that’ll give me some more stuff to cover here on the site. While I’ve been at the office everyday, I’ve been hard at work on trying to finish up Volume 2 of my book and also trying to crank out more merch for the 2019 season. The Battlecraft/Chronicles shift knobs are getting packed-up this weekend and I finally received my new batch of hoodies so please make sure to hit up the storefront if you’re looking to get one…

Other than that, I guess you can say I’ve just been living life. Things are good but I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t getting a little antsy not shooting any videos or photos. Maybe once Kristian gets back from Japan on a non-car trip I can go and give you guys some updates on the Hybrid Racing Civic that is getting closer to completion. I don’t think you guys have seen any updates on it since we put it outside for the last Chronicles and Coffee meet last October. Hmm, actually, maybe we should do a meet over here at the shop before the car show season starts. I’ll talk to the guys about it and see when we have some time. This weekend there’s the Stanceworks open house too and Formula D Long Beach is coming up so we’d have to find an open Sunday or something to make that happen…

The Orangeball DC5 Integra Type R was a pleasant surprise on Day 2 of Attack. Again, I really had no idea what to expect going to this event so seeing all these well-known Japanese time attack cars in one place was all a little overwhelming…

Next to the Orangeball ITR was another DC5R, this one with carbon doors and INGS+1 aero kit paired with a custom front splitter set-up…

The interior of that particular ITR received the swiss cheese treatment with as much metal on the body punched-out as possible while the body welds themselves have been reinforced with rivets for added rigidity….

Weight reduction is the idea here of course, with little amenities remaining. Even the dashboard has been taken out with just a engine harness and cluster sitting up front along with some aftermarket gauges to monitor the engine on the passenger side…

Also adding some reinforcement was a bolt-in roll cage. You can get a even better look at just how much metal was cut-out front this angle…

Again no dashboard at all, just a floating cluster, a trio of gauges, an HKS Lap Timer, and ATC steering wheel…

From this angle you can see the Mugen hood and how the openings at each end of the INGS front has been blocked-off to direct airflow to the radiator…

I walked by this DC5 throughout the day but never actually got to see it on the ground and on the track. I wonder what was wrong with it or what issues they ran into that preventing them from going out regularly…

The Wacky Mate BNR32 Skyline GT-R has seen some extensive development since it first appeared in Super Street magazine about four years ago. Back then it already had a 900HP HKS Stage 2 RB26DETT in it but now it has rear over fenders, modified front fenders, and a custom front bumper/splitter combo…
