It seems like a bit much but alas, we are finally at the final installment of our Attack Tsukuba 2019 Coverage. I’d venture to say that there was nothing really else like it that I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing in person. The World Time Attack Challenge is pretty close, but I just don’t think you can ever replicate the vibe that you get from an event like Attack, especially at a track like Tsukuba Circuit. It’s like hallowed ground for Japanese time attack. Looking back now, I can’t believe I was able to set foot in Tsukuba and Suzuka Circuit in the span of two years. The cars that I’ve seen at both those places…man, it’s a dream come true…
What was also so special about being at this event was seeing how the Japanese car enthusiasts interact and how helpful they are to one another. Throughout the two days I saw so many people encouraging others, lending a helping hand, advice, parts, anything you can think of. There is a true sense of camaraderie there and you don’t even have to understand the language to notice it. It’s very clear and present…
On that note, I’d imagine you guys would like to see the rest of the photos being that we are now 5-parts deep into it. This is the final set from Attack Tsukuba, and I think many of these shots are the best from this entire set, being the time of day, the weather, and the general vibe. By this time, we had already realized that William Au-Yeung had destroyed the previous FF Lap Record at Tsukuba and the JDMYARD Civic was done after experiencing another blown head gasket. There was no stress, everyone was just relaxing and taking in the environment and event collectively. I gotta head out to Formula Drift Long Beach right now to go hang out with some friends and to capture some content so I’ll keep it brief. If you guys are heading out there, I guess I’ll see you guys there. It should be a good one. Enjoy the photos and have a great weekend!!..

Following closely behind was the Auto Rescue Izu FD…
Security hard at work guiding each car back to the pits…
You don’t see very many R34 GT-Rs in red so this one looked particularly great, stock body, no aero except for OEM V-Spec II Nur, and Volk Racing ZE40 in Matte Blue Gunmetal…
DC5 Integra Type R with INGS aero paired with custom splitter/canard set-up which is thoroughly gutted and riveted…
Impressive duo of Integras, one representing Orange Ball and Shubox Inc….

The guys from ASLAN were kind enough to help out the JDMYARD team by mounting their wheels onto their EG so they could shave down the Advan A050 tires for ultra stickiness…
Overhead view of the paddock featuring the Auto Rescue Izu RX-7…
Towards the end of the day, the storm clouds began to roll in and made for some great photos. The sun was setting as well so it gave the dark clouds this interesting glow…
Totally unplanned gathering of all the white cars…
R32 Skyline GT-R coupe, which looked to be with the Auto Rescue Izu team. Just a very simple 32 with a swan-neck wing and Enkei RS05RR…

A glimpse under the hood at the bridge-ported rotary engine of the Auto Rescue build…
The interior of the FD and its custom dashboard, digital display, and fuel cell set-up mounted to the passenger side. Oddly enough, the car has a Nismo racing seat in it…
Love the center-exit exhaust shaped like a rotary which comes out through the upper half of the trunk. The metal ‘Attack’ license plate is really nifty as well…

Team JDMYARD/Hardrace with some help from some good Japanese friends…
The guys from JDMYARD didn’t end up taking the FF lap record, as it was earned by Will Au-Yeung and his team, but you’d never hear them say that this wasn’t a completely rewarding experience to be able to compete at Tsukuba in their multi-time WTAC championship-winning Civic…
In a field of incredibly well-built, very aggressive looking time attack machines, this S2000 wearing full ASM aero from Orange Ball was most certainly one of the cleanest, best-looking builds at Tsukuba Circuit. After I posted a photo of this S2K on my Instagram, I also realized he is quite well known in the S2000 community simply as his IG handle ‘@tarmacmeister’…
Kiyotaka’s widebody FD3S from Top Fuel Racing all loaded-up onto the trailer…
The TFR RX-7 utilizes Panspeed front and rear widebody panels with a custom front bumper and a rear section which has had its bumper chopped-off. There’s no more rear glass to save additional weight with the section replaced with carbon fiber molded to the shape of the original glass…
Without a bumper, you can see the cores for transmission and differential cooling, as well as a one-off center-exit titanium exhaust…
The TS Factory CBY AE86 Levin looked dramatic as all hell with the storm clouds above…
The driver’s door wasn’t completely closed and it was so light that a gust of wind actually blew it open, revealing the interior, it’s cage, custom dash, and steering wheel quick release…
Chassis-mounted rear wing, along with modified N2 rear over-fenders which provide radiused clearance for the Volk Racing TE37V…
The team from Garage Work and their red EG taking a break before loading-up…
