Quick Pics From The Brew’s Cruise LB July 2021 Meet…

I really hate to admit it but I think I’m in the midst of a massive writing block right now. I’m not really sure where it came from because I’ve been going through a lot of stuff this year which has helped me to be very creative, and I was actually writing quite a bit personally, but I think I’ve hit a little bit of a wall. Usually it’ll pass if I read more, which I have been doing, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much. I suppose I’m just emotionally-drained and experiencing a hangover from everything that’s happening around me. Sigh. In any case, I’m trying different things to bring my mood up and I’ve been actively going out more to be social…

This past weekend was the Brew’s Cruise meet over in Long Beach which is organized by my good friend David Andrade, aka DPK David. He originally started hosting these meets to help bring more foot traffic to the local coffee shop he enjoys going to every weekend. He felt that since he and his friends were hanging out there anyway, he might as well get some cars out there as well. I don’t think he expected the gatherings to get this big since he only started doing these in January but since moving the meet to Sundays, a larger crowd has turned-up every month. This last one was the biggest one yet, with a good variety of cars just packing all the parking spots along this street. It’s been pretty hot in Southern California lately but we were blessed with some nice overcast skies that day. It was nice and cool for a few hours until the sun finally peeked-out beyond the clouds but by then, people are started to take-off…

I didn’t take too many photos because I was really just trying to chill with my friends. I’ve been working on Volume 3 of my book almost every day in the past month or so and it’s taken-up most of my creative flow. It’s not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. The book is great so far and I’m about 80% finished with it, but having to go through thousands of photos to decide what needs to go where, along with trying to incorporate more writing into this one hasn’t been easy on the eyes. I’ll be fine. It all comes down to balance which is something I constantly work on. I have a shoot this week to complete the next chapter of this big Meguiar’s project I’ve been blessed to be on as well. I should probably focus all my energy on that this week. Enjoy the photos…

If you’ve never been to the Brew’s Cruise meets, they usually happen on the third Sunday of every month. The prime spots for photos are the ones where these two Integras are parked…

A regular at this meet is this gorgeous RPS13 240SX running Kouki 180SX aero and bronze TEs…

309A2391-Edit

The meet was so packed this time around that he ended up having to park in front of the liquor store around the corner which ended-up producing some pretty cool shots…

Nothing better than bronze concave TEs and a bottle of Tito’s vodka on a Sunday morning…

This legit Japanese EF9 Civic SiR looked great sitting nice and low on RS Watanabe wheels…

309A2407-Edit

I really wish I had shot more photos that day but I was too busy chatting with people and I also shot some film with another camera. I kept going back and forth that I lost track of what I had shot digitally and on film. For example, I took a photo of these SSR Hiro V2 Libra wheels but then I don’t have a photo of the car it was on, lol…. Whoops…

The JUST4FFUN guys made the drive from San Diego and arrived fashionably late…

Daniel Delgadillo’s Milano Red EK has been looking good lately since he recently switched over to Enkei J-Speed III wheels…

Juan Leon’s Midori Green Civic hatch planted to the Earth with R32 Skyline wheels up front and a front lip that’s hanging on for dear life…

Fiako’s DC5 wearing Mugen aero and Desmond wheels…

309A2437-Edit

I’ve always been a fan of Enkei J-Speed III wheels but I’m convinced they only look good on specific cars. A Civic hatchback would be one of those cars…

Nice to see Josue’s Civic out and about with a front windshield finally installed and custom side moldings. If this car looks familiar to you, this was the same car that I used for the Meguiar’s project that I recently shot. For those photos we used Mugen MR5 wheels instead but Josue prefers the Spoon SW388s…

309A2450-Edit

This was the first long drive for Josue’s Civic since they put it all back together after paint and it looked like everything went smoothly…

309A2466-Edit

At this point, I was just hanging out with friends but had my 70-200mm lens attached to my dSLR so I just shot from a distance…

309A2470-Edit

A lot of EF diehards are not too keen on Josue and Carlos not running black side moldings because ‘that’s how it is supposed to be’ but I honestly kinda dig these custom paint-matched thin moldings. The OEM moldings are so bulky and after you take them off a few times, they just have this weird shape to them where you can tell they’ve been fucked with before. Purists will probably be annoyed or against it but really, who cares?…

John Cruz stopped by to hang out in his NA1 NSX on bronze Mugen MF10s. It’s crazy to consider the proportions of this car compared to the modern-day Mustang next to it. The NSX looks so small…

Anthony Keuth goes pretty much everywhere in his DA Integra so of course he was at the Brew’s Cruise meet…

309A2494-Edit

Shawn Choeun’s Integra was also there sporting a JDP carbon front lip, carbon hood, and rare Work Ewing Emotion wheels…

Sorry I didn’t get more photos of the other cars at the meet. I’ll try to get more next time. It’s just hard to shoot there because the parking spaces are so tight and the cars are always at this odd incline. I have some film stuff that I’ll try to get developed and post up when I get them back. Thanks for looking!!…

  1. This was my second time going. Brought my son to check out the cars both times. This is the kind of car meet I like. The cars and coffee where I live is just old muscle cars. It just feels right going to this one instead.

  2. Hot damn, you got some nice shots!

The opening shots especially are reminiscent of your old stuff of the older meets. Such nice cars and pictures man.

    Really enjoyed these.

    Thanks Joey!

Plans and things will all line up for you. In the meanwhile, you just have to find some time to relax. 😛
