I was really trying to get this post up before I left for SEMA so I could just press the “Publish” button while I was in Vegas but I just simply ran out of time. The night before I left, I actually didn’t even get a chance to sleep. There was so much going on over the weekend that I didn’t even pack my suitcase until 4AM Tuesday morning—and my flight was at 9AM, lol. It’s been a crazy month, I swear. It went from being a 2-year layoff to everything happening all at once. Two Wekfest events, Japanese Classic Car Show, SEMA, all in the span of about four weeks time! And next month I have another Wekfest event in San Jose plus Super Lap Battle…
There wasn’t even time to sleep prior to SEMA so I packed and then headed straight to the airport. When I landed in Vegas, SEMA had already started so I spent the entire day at the show and was up for about 48 hours. Thankfully, I survived the week and the days after that were relatively calm. Hell, I even got some partying in at Omnia. I don’t know how I managed to stay up for all of that but I will say that I’m pretty happy with how everything is going so far. I’m worn-out, I won’t lie, but it’s like an incredibly satisfying type of worn-out. I don’t feel like I’m wasting any time. Every minute is spent doing something that matters and I can go to bed at night knowing that I made the most of my days…
I knew I had to get this up before the end of the week though so I landed back in Los Angeles at 4PM today, got back to the office by 5 and jumped straight into putting this entire post together. There isn’t much else to say about the Wekfest Seattle event that wasn’t already said in Part 1, so let’s get to the photos! Enjoy!…
This imported Nissan 31Cedric looked pretty good on color-matched Zauber Starform wheels parked in the roll-in area…
Ken Edwards entered the building in his Phoenix Yellow Mugen ITR on yellow Volk TEs…
Posted up right next to him was Mikee Andrada’s new K-swapped Zenki EK build with a color-matched Exceed by Mode Parfume front aero lip…
Exposed through a custom integrated hood vent are Kinsler individual throttle bodies…
LCM Tony in his silver Porsche 997…
Pow’s freshly-completed Civic build with color-matched Mugen front lip and Vision mirrors…
Rear angle shot of Terry’s Integra from Trikspeed…
Terry had also planned to bring his custom Ruckus to the show, but with a possibility of rain, he decided to bring his NSX instead. What a strange back-up vehicle, right?…
I can’t say I know much about Aston Martins but this one looked pretty good. When I say “much” I mean, I absolutely know nothing about these…
Huy’s custom widened Mugen DC5 popped under the fluorescent lights of the staging area…
As did Bill Master’s turbocharged EP3 Civic…
BMW E46 M3 coupe from Highway Star with a CSL front bumper and Alpina wheels..
One of the cleanest, well-executed S2000s in the PNW, Chris Rafanan’s AP2 on bronze Volk CEs running an Exceed rear spoiler…
Raul Rodriguez pulled-up the driveway slowly in his full Mugen-equipped Civic…
He got stuck waiting in line at the driveway which worked-out perfectly for me because I was able to get this shot of his front end basically sitting on the front tire of his bronze Mugen MF10 wheels. This photo came out so good you’d think that we staged it this way, but no, I just shot it at the right time…
“rice_in_spanish” aka Jesus Aguilar’s really well-done silver 99-00 Civic sitting nice and low on bronze TEs still with plenty of clearance for his Mugen SS front lip…
This Datsun 510 coupe looked in great condition, looking nice and simple on SSR MKIII wheels…
John Zuberek was all smiles as he arrived in his BMW E30 M3, now back on white Volk TEs…
Love the pairing of the Mugen SS lip with the low-profile Sergeant rear diffuser/lip and J’s Racing wing…
This widebody SW20 MR-2 was a pleasant surprise this year with its traditional Castrol livery…
One more of the Nissan Cedric from earlier…
This twin-turbo Viper was pretty gnarly-looking. We didn’t get a chance to hear this thing early in the AM but did hear it rumbling out of the venue at the end of the show…
15 year-old Derek Malla’s Imola Orange Civic hatchback on bronze Mugen MF10 from Backyard Boogie…
Nicely done engine bay set-up with a B-series swap utilizing a custom breather set-up with the valve cover painted in traditional Mugen colors…
Derek’s older brother Ben’s EF3-converted Civic sedan that you also saw in Part 1…
A Mugen Formula valve cover serves as the centerpiece to this cleanly-executed engine bay which includes a custom titanium intake pipe/velocity stack and aluminum oil breather box…
With Mikee all settled-in at the show, he was able to remove his hood so I could get some detailed shots of his engine bay set-up…
As mentioned earlier there’s a K-series swap in this Civic running individual throttle injection by Kinsler but there is so much more to see within…
Andrada is a pretty well-known fabricator up there in the Northwest and has created some really cool stuff for himself and fellow Honda enthusiasts in the area. The header and front strut tower bar are both hand fabricated by Mikee in his garage…
A close-up of the tapered horns of the Kinsler ITBs…
A glimpse at the custom titanium header from the opposite end…
Just a fantastic engine bay overall, especially with the radiator tucked away under the core support so your eyes are automatically drawn to the Kinsler injection set-up…
Edwards came ready this year to try to capture an award in the Acura class with his Mugen-equipped PY Type R. Though the yellow on the TE37 doesn’t necessarily match the Phoenix Yellow, it still has a particular flow to it that works aesthetically….
The first thing you’ll notice when looking at this engine bay is the billet valve cover, paired with individual coil packs with timing gears exposed. But a closer look reveals a custom header made by Mikee Andrada aka M-Fab and if you can look even closer towards the back side of the engine, you’ll notice the Jackson Racing supercharger…
The Jackson blowers are usually a little hard to see since they tuck in so tightly but you’ll notice it after you follow the Mugen air box and M-Fab aluminum intake arm…
Mikee Andrada’s Civic coupe also made an appearance, looking fantastic as usual. Like his newly-built hatchback, this couple also has an Exceed by Mode Parfume front lip and Volk TEs…
Unlike the hatchback however, this one is turbocharged with a ton of custom fabrication work by Andrada himself…
Vu’s legit (Sunlight) Yellow EK9 Civic Type R originally imported years and years ago by N1 Concepts in the Bay Area…
Jeremiah Whipple had a bit of a rough morning trying to get this Civic to the show but made it inside just barely before the doors closed. He’s been putting in a ton of new work into this build but couldn’t get it running right that day. I’m glad he made it though to show-off his new Arios front…
K20 swap under the hood with Hayward individual throttle bodies and a collection of XRP plumbing…
Terry Suvonnarith’s Integra staged and all cleaned-up. I still don’t know what happened with the front bumper and why he didn’t choose to run the FEEL’S front lip like he had mentioned a few days before that…
Golden Eagle balanced and blueprinted B18C1 swap with TODA Racing camshafts, Hytech header, and Frontline billet valve cover…
Jenvey 48mm individual throttle bodies with polished velocity stacks…
Custom aluminum oil catch can and battery terminal junction box…
Cooper Boudia’s Integra GSR on display at the Cs Customizing booth…
Terry Nguyen’s Ferrari F430 is one of the cars from the PNW that I’ve been trying to see for a while now. I mean, I’ll be the first one to tell you I don’t know shit about Ferraris but I just like seeing different cars with Volk TE37 wheels on them. Just look at it. My goodness…
Jacob Reyes’ incredibly detailed, restomod-themed 99-00 Civic featuring a Mugen SS front lip, Mugen M7 wheels, and Honda Access headlight covers and grille guard…
More of Jesus Aguilar’s EK once it was all cleaned-up. Love the yellow ICB seat inside and how much it contrasts with the subtle silver…
The B-series setup under the hood features an ARC Induction Box/Intake, ASC strut tower bar, and DTR Street Sweeper header…
A couple more of Raul Rodriguez’s full Mugen EK4 SiR…
Here’s a better look at Pow’s EG on Sprint Hart CP-F wheels…
Love overall simplicity and execution of the dark gray-painted bay. The OE wrinkle-red valve cover contrasts well and the Mugen airbox without the decal helps add to the subtlety…
Franky Chan’s DA Integra with US Racing Sports front lip, Mugen sids, and Sprint Hart CP-Fs…
Huy’s turbocharged DC5 wearing complete Mugen aero and custom metal widebody…
Bill Master’s turbocharged Mugen EP3 Civic with StopTech big brakes and bronze Volk CEs…
Boosted AP1 S2000 weekend track car wearing full J’s Racing GT widebody aero…
One more of Terry’s F430 because it just sits so good…
After the show, I ran over to get a shot of Austin from NEVER CONTENT’s FD3S RX-7 before he took off. Not sure how he can drive this thing at this ride height but it looks amazing and that’s kind of what matters, right?…
Let’s wrap this one up with one final shot of Josh Velasco’s widebody 1JZ-GTE swapped IS300 Sportcross on Blitz Type 03…
I need to grab some dinner and get some rest so that’s a wrap on this one. Thanks for looking everyone!…
I’ll admit I’m typically not much of a fan of silver cars (despite having one myself) but something about Jesus Aguilar’s EK works SO well. The bronze accents, with that pop of yellow as you mentioned; so nice. Everything shown here is incredible though, well done owners.
