I was having such a good time going over the Seattle Wekfest photos that I almost forgot that I had one more section of Wekfest San Jose captures to upload here. It has been pretty busy over here lately but you guys probably already know that. This entire year has just been insane, in terms of workload and traveling. I guess if Year 10 was the celebration, the eleventh year was definitely a deep-drive right back into hard work. Thus far, this year feels the most strenuous of all of them, in terms of the physical toll that it has taken on my body. Perhaps it just has to do with getting up there in age. I can’t recall any period of time in the past when I’ve ever felt the wear and tear as much as I have lately. Getting old sucks, folks, let me tell you. The younger ones will figure it out but boy am I starting to feel for the older enthusiasts who are doing their thing still. Much props for sticking with it because man, this stuff takes a toll. It’s fun as hell still but now I remember why I don’t go out to the club anymore. I just can’t party like I used to, lol…
On that note, let’s get to business… There are still some of you who have yet to receive your shift knobs from the latest order. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you. Some of them were still at anodizing and just came back middle of last week. I’ve just been under the weather and recovering so I haven’t had the chance to put the packaging together to ship them out. Trust me, they are coming. I don’t know what day it is currently…Monday? Perhaps? But they will definitely go out in the next few days. I just need to find time in-between laying down and sitting on the toilet to ship them out to you guys. Thank you for your patience…
For those of you who are looking to acquire a copy of my second book, “CHRNCLS Volume 2: Glory”, you can actually reserve one now HERE at the official storefront. I’m making them more readily available to the public unlike the first book because I really want you guys and gals to have a copy if you really want one. I know in the past stuff has been super limited and difficult to come by unless you’re really fast on the browser and buying rare goods so Volume 2 will be different. I’ll probably keep the order system for it open for the rest of the week before closing it and finalizing the number of physical copies that need to be ordered from the publishing company. If you want a book, order this week because this will probably be the only time. I’m trying this system out for this book because Volume 1 was so difficult to get and people are still asking me about it today…
As mentioned earlier, this is the final portion of Wekfest San Jose 2019 Coverage. These were all shot in-door after the roll-in on Saturday closed and the building was completely void of outside people. We had a few hours after roll-in to make sure everything was set-up properly for Sunday so I took advantage of the free time to shoot. If you guys were there you’ll remember how crazy Sunday was. The foot traffic made it pretty difficult to get a clean shot so I was happy that I found some time to get photos the night before. Some were shot right after roll-in ended, and some came after we went back to the venue after dinner around midnight. I didn’t pick up my camera again until the very end of the show on Sunday and you’ll see those shots at the bottom of the page. Enjoy everybody and please come back for the Wekfest Seattle content, it is FUCKING GOOD…
The boys from ATS Garage aren’t nearly as heavily-involved in the car show community these days, considering many have gotten older, started families, or have gotten away from cars, but there are still a few of them that come out for the annual Wekfest event with some great builds. The Integra you see above, dubbed “REMY” is owned and built by ATS Garage member Alex Roxas. The car has seen some significant changes in the last few years and the 2019 iteration of it is by far its best yet. The outside remains relatively simple, running just a Chargespeed front half lip, Wilwood brakes, and 4-lug bronze Volk CE8 wheels. The engine bay is where this car really shines…
The B18C1 has been completely reworked and cleaned-up on the outside, hosting a custom valve cover and Kinsler individual throttle bodies…
The bay itself has been shaved smooth with even the core support filled and shaved. Hiding under the core support is a tucked radiator with -AN cooling hoses. The factory distributor is no longer in use now, running a modern coil-on-plug set-up with all electronics coming together into a Rywire Mil-spec engine harness…
Perhaps the most interesting modification in the engine bay is the paint-matched oil filter, now relocated to the front transmission-side of his bay…which means that Alex either never drives it or just decided to have an entire case of oil filters paint-matched for whenever he decides he does need to change his oil…
One of the new breed of up and coming enthusiasts who has family-ties to the ATS Garage crew debuting his ED Civic hatchback, simple and clean on silver Mugen RnR wheels…
While the hatchback was debuting, this turbocharged DB2 Integra GS-R has been a part of ATS as far back as I can remember. After all these years its still looking mint with the same engine and turbo set-up that it has had since the early 2000s…
Anthony Keuth’s ’91 Integra from Milestone Collective sitting on bronze Mugen MF8…
Jeremy Allgier’s award-winning Honda Prelude build before he removed his carbon hood to showcase that beautifully-executed engine bay with all his Abbey Road Company goodies…
JDM ITR face, Mugen front bumper, polished RnRs, and a gen. 1 rear wing on the “Cloned-R”…
Devon Howard’s EG6 Civic with a J’s Racing front lip, Chargespeed wide fenders up front, and 16-inch Desmond Regamaster EVO wheels…
RJ’s period-perfect DA Integra with Wings West front bumper and 17-inch Racing Hart Type-C…
Nathan Galindo’s naturally-aspirated K20-powered Civic hatchback with an Airwalker front bumper and Barramundi Design Starmarlin wheels…
The most interesting aspect of his engine bay set-up is actually the bay itself, which has been wrapped in a carbon fiber weave…
William Estrada’s 20-valve 4A-GE powered 1969 Toyota Corolla Sprinter…
Datsun Bluebird SSS coupe sitting nicely on Work Meister CR-01 wheels, still powered by the factory L-series engine…
Dustin McQueary’s Integra sedan recently got repainted while he’s patiently working on his other DA Integra project. He’s been occupying his time as of late fabricating different pieces for his engine bay by hand like the metal shield in-between the battery and air intake, as well as the fiberglass coil cover…
Beautiful purple BMW E36 coupe, executed simply with just an air suspension and 3-piece forged wheel set-up…
Tony Pham’s Acura NSX-T running a Advance half-lip and bronze Volk TE37…
Supercharged C32-swap under the glass hatch with a slight peek at the external reservoirs from his JRZ suspension…
Deejay owns a K-swapped del Sol which was featured in Honda Tuning a few years back but now also owns this black Acura NSX on Volk TESL wheels…
Jayson Santoyo’s NSX wearing a complete Marga Hills aero kit and Volk Racing CE28SL…
Terry Yu’s TRA Kyoto Pandem widebody AP1 S2000 in a bright lime green representing Inspire USA…
Kraftwerks supercharged widebody FA5 Civic SI now wearing a FD2 face and rear…
B20 VTEC-powered Candy Apple Red Integra with a J-spec DC2 ITR front conversion…
Jonathan San Juan’s Civic hatchback looking straight out of a Mugen catalog with the complete Mugen Type AERO kit paired with bronze MF10 wheels…
Jeremy San Juan’s Integra Type R running a Mugen Gen. II wing and a mint set of red-faced GAB Sport wheels…
Pandem widebody Honda Civic hatchback in yellow sitting on Volk CE28SL…
Wayne from August Cascade brought his CR-X build down to the Bay Area from Oregon for Wekfest San Jose but also used the time away from home to get a fresh tune from Hybridworks…
The CR-X is now running great with a rare JUN Auto valve cover and plug wire cover to go with his long-running theme and love for the Japanese tuning shop…
I still remember seeing a JUN wire cover a couple years ago at JUN and am still wondering whether or not I should have bought it as a collector’s item…
Two very different engine bay set-ups between Wayne’s CR-X and the newly-finished Higgins Built Civic. One is a throwback to yesteryear and the other a take on modern-day Honda engine bays featuring the latest and greatest components…
The Higgins Built Civic boasts a JDM EF9 front, paired with a custom front splitter and paint-matched PCI sideskirts…
The dashboard has been altered, utilizing only the top section which has been re-wrapped. A single Sparco seat sits in the gutted cabin with a K-Tuned shifter box exposed and mounted on the bare chassis…
An AIM digital display sits atop the steering rod with the factory instrument cluster removed and replaced by the Tilton brake reservoir which can be filled from the top of the dash…
Retrofitted switch panels in the center part of the dashboard giving power to only the essentials…
A view from the rear hatch showcases the custom roll cage and stripped/painted interior…
Fancy new Wekfest neon sign for the merch booth looked pretty cool…
After the show ended, I finally found some time to pull my camera out again and captured some shots of Jimmy’s H2B EM1 before he cruised-out of the building…
The Streetfighter LA widebody BMW F30 335 sedan…
Joe’s Spoon Sports-themed DB8 Integra sedan…
This Toyota 86 was a mash-up of Rocket Bunny V2 and Pandem aero pieces…
Sang and his turbocharged S2000 heading back to San Diego after the show ended…
DADS BUS heading out in style…
Two very different Honda builds from different eras…
Gold Rocket Bunny 240SX rolling nice and low on HRE wheels…
One of the best Prelude builds around, supercharged, wearing all Mugen aero from the great state of Texas…
Spoon Sports-themed CL9 TSX with some Mugen stuff mixed-in…
And we close things out for WF San Jose with Jeff Nguyen’s NSX from Las Vegas, representing Jade Motorsports running a bad ass individual throttle body set-up with titanium horns….
Looks great and probably sounds fantastic…
That’s all folks. Next up is Wekfest Seattle content and it is gonna be amazing!!…
